We have a couple of riders down over the last few days but all reports have them healing. Best wishes and get back on the bikes soon. Riding Advice Respect the rules of the road and beware of other bikes and cars. The aim is to enjoy your ride and for everyone to arrive home safely.

3 Wednesday Riders reports. Ken Krimmer Leaving Maccas, we headed out through Cambooya, Clifton, Allora and Gladfield. We stopped at Yangan where we had morning tea. We headed to Killarney for fuel before travelling to the Warwick RSL for lunch. We then meandered through the back road through Allora, Clifton and Cambooya then home Today we went down the range through Hampton, Esk to Toogoolawah where we had morning tea. We then cut across past Watts Bridge Air Field to the top of Wivenhoe Dam and then around the back of the Dam to Fernvale. From there we travelled through Marburg to Rosewood for lunch and then back home through Laidley and Flagstone Creek Again we headed through Hampton and onto Toogoolawah for morning tea. We then went through Harlin, Blackbutt, and Yarraman to Cooyar where we stopped for lunch. After lunch we headed home through Crow s Nest On Christmas Eve we travelled the back roads to Goombungee, Haden and onto Cooyar for morning tea. Being so warm, we headed home through Crow s Nest and were home for lunch. By this time, the roads were very busy with Christmas traffic New Year s Eve was another short ride because of the heat. We travelled down to Flagstone Creek to Ma Ma Creek for smoko. We then went up Heifer Creek, East Greenmount and home This being our first 8a.m. start, we headed down Flagstone Creek to Laidley and Rosewood where we took a break. We then went out the Rosevale Road to Warrill View, Harrisville, to the Boonah- Beaudesert Road and into Boonah making a fuel stop at Aratula. Being early in the day, we then went up Cunningham s Gap to Gladfield and then into Allora for lunch. Here John B came across an old neighbour who he hadn t seen for 50 years. We had to drag John away as we thought the local law could be still after him (just joking John). We then headed home through Clifton, Cambooya and Wyreema. This was a very pleasant day to be riding as the tempeture went from 28C to 22C over Cunningham Gap. All told we travelled approximately 320 klms.

4 Canungra Ride Report Australia Day Long Weekend January 2015 The weather leading up to our annual trek to Canungra was anything but pleasant. But, as usual the sun came out Saturday morning, with just a couple of sprinkles to keep the dust down along the way. Our plan was to take the direct route down the Mountain, pick up Goat in Withcott and continue to Helidon, Gatton, Laidley, Warrill View to Peak Crossing and on to Beaudesert for fuel and morning tea. All was going so well till we hit the Boonah Beaudesert Road junction, there was a foot of water over the floodway and the road was closed. Jump to plan B, head to Boonah and think about our next move over a coffee. After morning tea we received an update on the Floodway, water had receded and it was open. So we refuelled and hit the road, through 6 inches of water and on to Canungra. Of course some people won t or can t listen and left their refuel until Beaudesert, the rest of us didn t stop until Canungra. We went through town and past the pub to the show grounds and set up camp. Then we sat back and advised the latecomers how best to set up their campers. It sometimes amazes me how some people do not appreciate helpful advice freely offered. After some refreshing drinks (Rabbit calls this activity individual sculling practice ) and quite a few reputations soiled, a decision was made to arrange for the hotels courtesy bus to pick us up for dinner, mainly because we didn t think one of us could walk that far. All enjoyed the meal, especially the three that Greg ate between drinks. A live band, plenty of company, and cheap grog made for a most enjoyable evening. Plus we had rabbit demonstrating his version of swan diving from the pubs front door. It wasn t until he asked the bands lead singer, what time does the karaoke start, that we knew it was time to go home. 9.00pm was the last bus home; it was a pity nobody bothered to tell us. We arrived at the pickup point at 9.01 to see the bus leave. Cloudy was the first to slink away with a friend in

5 toe, followed shortly after by whitewing and rabbit at a discreet distance so as not to crowd the cloud, besides we didn t want them to hear us giggling. All was going so well, all the way back to the showgrounds without so much as a stumble. Then we got to the main gate and that cattle grid, now referred to as Rabbit Trap. One minute Greg is in front with the touch, the next he has vanished, all I can hear is this banshee squealing at my feet. It seemed to take the ambulance hours to arrive, in fact it was only 5 minutes, I put this down to being only 100 metres away from a cold beer. But it was long enough to drag rabbit off the grid and on to the grass, just in case the bus turned up. After rabbit left for his 6 th floor condo holiday on the Gold Coast, it was back to more socialising and belly button gazing at camp until K2 arrived around midnight. Next day the Pres and I went for a drive to see how Greg was settling in to his tax payer paid holiday, Greg wasn t available to see us, according to his personal secretary/receptionist, something to do with being under the knife. So we left him some clothes (no shoes) and returned to camp. Back at camp there was a sunburn competition happening at the creek, Kerry won hands down, she is the only person I know who can get sunburnt at night. There was lots of swimming, laughing and merriment and some social drinking, followed by more outlandish claims of wisdom, heroism and super human feats by some. After a good night s sleep, it was up early for a reheated breaky and pack for the ride home. Left Canungra at 9.00am for home via Boonah, up Cunninghams Gap and refuelled and said our farewell s at Allora. Arrived Toowoomba after 1.00pm, Dalby mob arrived home around 2.30pm. Thanks to the day riders for your company on the way down and to Neil, Kat and Damian, John and Elaine, Jumbo, Leone, Goat, Cloudy, Rabbit and K2 Keep childhood alive and be happy. Lyndon
