1 Hi Peter, 2013 SPRING CUSTOM TRIPS I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that my brother and I had an absolutely amazing time during our PORSCHE trip in Germany. Both Volker Gempt, and Volker Spannagel were amazing tour guides; they truly displayed an incredible knowledge and love of PORSCHE. My brother and I were able to get a private tour of IWC with one of their supervising watch engineers. It was incredible! The hotels were exceptional and the scenery beautiful. Thank you for your diligent planning and making this a truly once in a lifetime trip. again. I say "Once in a lifetime", but it was so great we may have to do it Thank you, Mr. Gempt, for your kind words. It was an honor for my brother and me to have been able to share your company and to knowledge about the history of PORSCHE by Mr. Spannagel and yourself. The scenery, food, weather and cars were all perfect. I have been the envy of all of my friends since returning, and have spent my days repeating stories of speed and glory in magnificent Deutschland! My best regards to you and your family. 2 Dear Fast Lane Travel, Our trip was certainly quite an experience, and I am glad we went. This was something that I would never have done. The chicken and sausages, apple strudel that was served at the Grendl tent were very good. I have never had a beer mug that large before. We deviated from you're plan and visited the concentration camp in Dachau and then on to Stuttgart. We loved the freeways because we could really open up the PORSCHE. The German road system is so much better than the US system. I guess that is why the cars are also so much better. I don t know how I will drive in the US anymore; it s so much slower than Germany. -Ron Brill, Atlanta, Georgia Hello Peter, Thomas, and Ilse, I ve just returned to Canada from my Europe trip, and would like to share my thoughts of the tour in Germany arranged by Fast Lane Travel. was on display on every wall and ceiling. I travelled directly from Le Mans to the Dorint hotel, was greeted by the front desk staff, and checked into my suite. After my basic hotel at Le Mans, the Dorint was palatial! 3 I picked up the 997S from the Kleens on the next day. They were most helpful, and Herr Kleen took me out for a little spin to become acquainted with the PORSCHE, as well as, point out the local places I would need to get to for my track day. I was met at the driving education centre by Petra Diederich, my instructor for the morning session. After a basic briefing, she started on the handling exercises. We should have driver instruction at that level for every driver s test here in North America. It was thorough and educational. She corrected a couple of my bad habits (hand position on the wheel!) and encouraged me to push the PORSCHE to over and under steer on the handling courses. I finished with a much better appreciation of the car and was much better prepared for my evening lapping session. My introduction to the Nordschleife began with my Ring Taxi ride. I was given the choice of an Audi S5 or PORSCHE GT2 to ride in. As Herr Kleen had just washed the GT2, and it was parked in front, of course I had to choose it. I have ridden at speed with race drivers around other tracks (Laguna Seca in California in a GT3), but this was an experience on a whole different level. Immediately after the Ring Taxi lap, I was introduced to Michel, my instructor for my lapping session. I have had many instructors over the years, and Michel was one of the best, calm, patient, and with a good sense of humor. The 4 laps were over all too quickly, Michel says I need to come back for a weekend session to really get to know the course. The next morning I travelled to Stuttgart and met Ilse at the Graf Zeppelin hotel. She is an excellent host, we had a good evening walking around the Königsstrasse and seeing the old city. The PORSCHE Museum and factory tour the next day were fascinating, again Ilse was invaluable with information and stories. She knows everybody there. 4 Finally, I had my rental day with the 991 Carrera S. I enjoyed a great day driving to Lindau and having a lunch break before heading back to Stuttgart. Stefan Rübsamen was unavailable that day, but the concierge had the car parked, and I had an enjoyable lunch overlooking the harbor. As the weather turned to heavy rain on the trip back, I returned on the A-8, although I did get some decent open stretches on the drive down. We indeed joined the 150 mph club. Finally, had my last dinner at the Graf Zepplin and departed for Paris in the morning. The whole trip was well planned, and I had an excellent time during my week in Germany. I extend special thanks to the Kleens of RentRaceCar, Petra Deiderich of the Driving Centre at Fsznuerburgring, and Ilse Nädele, my Stuttgart host (I m looking for the Canadian PCA Polar Club s emblem for her). Thanks for the trip arrangements; I look forward to returning to Germany. 5 Hello Fast Lane Travel, Fast Lane Travel put together a well thought out and executed tour and that came from many years of experience. Each day was exciting and one to look forward to. We really enjoyed the tours to the Mercedes Museum, PORSCHE Museum, and PORSCHE factory. Doing that is a lifelong dream if you are into Mercedes and PORSCHE cars like we are. The restaurants were all very nice, and the food preparation was very interesting looking and very well done. We especially enjoyed breakfast. The highlight of the tour was driving two days in the 991 on the autobahn. This will definitely be something we can brag about to friends and family. -Maj. Wyndell and Olivia Burden, Ozark, Alabama It was always fun to return to our room in the evening finding gifts and invitation-type cards outlining the next day events. That was a real neat touch! Thomas was a very good leader. He patiently explained details about the various things we were doing, whether it was road rules about driving on the autobahn, or explaining details in a restaurant, he remained thoughtful to our needs. 6 Hi Peter, We did not really know what to expect for this tour, but everything exceeded anything we could imagine. Michael thoroughly enjoyed his laps around the Nurburgring. The actual 4 day TREFFEN was wonderful. It was a surprise to begin our trip with a brand new PORSCHE, which had only 57 km on it! We met some really great people. Everything was well organized, thoroughly explained, and well thought out. There was just enough time at the Mercedes museum and PORSCHE factory and museum. All the restaurants had great choices, and the food was very good. All the hotels were up to date, clean, and we were able to sleep well all of them. It was wonderful happenstance we had these dates off and our tickets to Germany set. Then we stumbled upon Fast Lane when we were researching for the laps around the Nürburgring. Once we got the laps established the PORSCHE trip was an exciting addition. 8 2013 SPRING TREFFEN PLUS Peter, Both Sylvia and I had a fantastic trip with you thanks to your organization. Our expectations were based on the remarks from previous participants. They told us that everything would be taken care of and sure enough it was. This trip was very complex and well thought out. We were very happy with all aspects of the trip, and it exceeded what we could imagine. This trip was recommended to us by a family member who had been on a trip with Fast Lane Travel before. Thank you very much from both of us. 9 Hello Peter, I did not come into this trip with any particular expectations, but regardless I had a great time. All that I wanted to do was drive the No Speed limit Autobahn, and once Peter told me that was possible, I signed up for the trip. Aside from going on cruises to the Bahamas, etc, I haven't really been out of the USA, and certainly not to Europe. I picked the TREFFEN plus tour since I wanted to drive on the no speed limit autobahn. I picked the plus tour over the regular since I figured if I was taking time off from work I might as well have a longer trip with five days of driving, rather than two. I don't think I'd make any particular changes. Well, maybe one change: Have the little blonde girl Stephanie from Salzburg be with me for the entire trip, not just the photo rally! -Allen Teman, Coral Springs, Florida Hello Fast Lane Travel, On behalf of Ernest and myself, I would like to thank you for making my first Le Mans experience so beautiful I don t know when I last enjoyed myself so much, and we will certainly be back Hours of LE MANS Andreas was a wonderful driver and person to spend time with as well, a diamond in the rough. 10 2013 FALL CUSTOM TRIPS Peter, I know I have already said it, but thank you again for all that you did to make our trip to Germany so memorable. Every day was an adventure and we were all filled with great anticipation as we set off each morning. The detail you provided was fantastic and served us well. I now understand why so many people enjoy traveling with you or having you arrange their trips. Your knowledge of the countries, hotels, restaurants, and not-to-miss highlights ensures a fabulous adventure for anybody who engages with you. I am so grateful to have shared this with my sons. They will have wonderful memories to share with their children; this will become part of the King family story. Hopefully Alex and Carson will be touring the PORSCHE Factory for the 75 th anniversary of the 911 and taking delivery of their own PORSCHES! I want to especially thank you for also arranging dinner with Ilse for Tom and me. She welcomed us so warmly and prepared such a wonderful meal. We enjoyed a delightful evening in her company and it was a highlight for our trip. 11 This tour was more than we hoped for. Our friend referred us to Fast Lane Travel. He explained that this was a trip of a lifetime and we must do it. 12 We have been on previous trips with Fast Lane Travel, therefore we knew what we were getting into. The food and wine are always exceptional. The staffs at all the hotels and restaurants were always helpful. We decided to do this trip because of the cities and events covered. The fact that it was a self driving trip in a PORSCHE was the tipping factor. 14 Peter made this trip extra special for my dad who suspects that was and will be the best holiday of his lifetime. The timing, cost, and special accommodations that were made for my dad are the main reasons I decided to go on this trip. These kind of trips are overwhelming to put together by yourself, Fast Lane Travel, Inc. did it all for us! I will be back for another trip!! We just may do the same trip again, and we will probably have you plan a custom trip for us in the future. You should know that Bill had been hesitant to visit Germany because of the language barrier and some lack of interest because of his Spanish heritage. I on the other hand, have always been a little interested because of my German heritage. In any event, the Five Country Adventure was truly one of our best vacations. We both came home marveling at the beauty of the mountains and lakes; it was both exciting and peaceful. We were both surprised to have found such profound beauty and such well disciplined countries - Dr. William Colom and Lorraine Eckert, New London, Connecticut Rita and I are not tour people, but this trip was a wonderful exception. All of the venues for lodging and food were exceptional. Nobuko and Volker s guidance and assistance were invaluable. Our automobiles were first rate. When I personally had a problem with my car, Volker resolved it without losing any of the group in the Alps. It is quite likely that we will do this again. - Charles Switzer and Rita Montrosse, Princeton, West Virginia Expectations were met and exceeded! I was extremely impressed with the leaders of groups and in our case Volker and Nobuko s dedication. We really enjoyed the test of the 991 with pdk and the opportunity to drive 150+ MPH! The PORSCHE factory tour was great. We enjoyed the alpine driving a lot and the hotels and food were phenomenal. 16 Expectations were met and exceeded! We were very satisfied with the arrangements made. We decided to take your trip when I was in the early stages of planning an Alps driving trip. Thanks to driving the PORSCHE Carerra S on the trip our new Carerra S is on its way!! Driving a PORSCHE to Italy and seeing Florence and Austria was fabulous. We wanted to see Europe at high speed and we certainly did! - John and Phyllis Lindsey, Olympia, Washington Thank you for a trip of a lifetime! It exceeded our expectations in all aspects. We thoroughly enjoyed all our accommodations. The drive up to the Interalpen was so much fun. Who doesn t love the great beauty of the Austrian Alps! The drive thru the lobby was unique. We love that our group had the whole Casali di Bibbiano villas and Shlosshotel Igles all to ourselves. The highlight of our drive was the Silvretta Hochalpenstrasse! There is nothing like being able to drive hard with someone in the lead telling us via the radio Clear! We never had to worry about what we might meet on the road we were told first. All of the food on the trip was over the top! Nancy loved the cooking lesson. Thomas was great. Having an expert guide out in front of us telling us what to expect is as the MasterCard Commercial notes: Priceless! We have done nothing but raved about what a great time we had and when asked if we would do it again we said: Of course! We will pick a different venue(s) but will absolutely return in the future. 19 We drove fast, saw great scenery, and Thomas was exemplary! - Mary Ann Cofrin and Tim Pafik, Amherst, Massachusetts Peter and Thomas, Our Fast Lane Travel Tuscany PORSCHE Fest exceeded every expectation. EVERYTHING was first class!! And by that I mean 5 STARS! 20 Innsbruck), they solved them immediately and graciously. These guys know what they are doing and do it well. Example of one of the small touches: Peter heard that I was a fly fisherman for trout and even though there was no time for a fishing trip I was surprised to find that they had made special arrangements to get trout for me for dinner one night even having a driver deliver the trout personally to the restaurant. The small, unexpected touches like this are what make this such an incredible vacation not to mention driving a brand new 991 PORSCHE to MPH on the Autobahn! (Dianne wants to go 170 next time!) We are so impressed that we are going on the Riviera trip in 2014! 21 2013 BERLIN PLUS PORSCHE FEST Gail and I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed the trip with you which we just finished. You did a wonderful job and the other people on the tour were very enjoyable. We loved the tour of the factory in Leipzig and the previous tour of the Stuttgart factory. As you know, I have a 2013 C2S cab and have just purchased a 2014 Panamera GTS which will be delivered in November. The factory tours we took with you were instrumental in my purchasing these cars. Additionally, I am looking at my schedule and I think that Gail and I will almost certainly join you on the Provence trip next year. - Dr. Peter and Gail Byeff, Southington, Connecticut We were looking forward to seeing Berlin, the factory, and track in Leipzig. We also liked seeing Gmuend. The overall exclusivity of the trip was great. Of course driving a brand new 991 was the big attraction. Thomas and his wife Paula were awesome and cannot wait to join you on the next Hello Peter, This was a wonderful trip, it was very well planned, moved smoothly and was a lot of fun. It was the perfect adventure at the absolute perfect time of the year! There was a good balance of fun driving, history, sightseeing and culture. The local guides were always very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. The Photo Rally dinner was so much fun.
