3 2006 Summer Workshop June 21 st, 22 nd, and 23 rd The Lighthouse Inn, West Dennis, MA Dear Public Works Colleague: The New England Chapter of the American Public Works Association would like to cordially invite you to the 2006 Annual Summer Workshop. The three-day event will bring together Public Works officials, consultants, vendors and contractors from throughout New England to discuss a variety of public works topics, exchange ideas and attend valuable technical programs. This comprehensive three-day workshop will feature programs that will inform Public Work officials, managers, supervisors and key employees about infrastructure planning, transportation, equipment and safety, new products and much more. In addition to this year s outstanding technical program, the Chapter has also planned a number of special activities and networking opportunities. A detailed agenda and schedule for the workshop is enclosed along with an event calendar, which lists all key times and activities. The workshop fee is $75 per person for all three days, and $40 per person for one day s attendance. Reservations may be made by sending or faxing the enclosed reservation form. Conference registrations must be made with payment no later than June 19 th. Please make checks payable to the NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER, APWA. Room reservations must be made directly with the Lighthouse Inn using the enclosed registration form (no phone registrations will be accepted). The Lighthouse is holding a group of rooms for the Chapter until May 12 th. Please identify yourself as an APWA Summer Workshop participant. Rates are $505 (single occupancy) and $378 (per person, double occupancy) for a 2-night / 3-day package. The price includes all meals, taxes and gratuities. A $ advance deposit is required to hold your reservation. Advance deposits will not be returned if notice of cancellation is not received at least 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. Reservation requests received after May 12 th will be accepted on an availability basis only. Accommodations are also available both prior and subsequent to the above dates, should you wish to arrive early or stay on. ROOM RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BY MAY 12 th. All meals for single day conference attendees and those not staying at the Lighthouse Inn must be reserved in advance on the enclosed Day Visitor Meal Registration Form. Meal reservations will not be available during the conference and will not be available for purchase directly from the Lighthouse Inn as they have been previously. This is especially important if you are only planning to attend the Member of the Year Banquet or Cape Cod Clambake. Registration badges will be required for admittance to all conference events. Arrangements for box lunches should be made the night before. 9 Summer Workshop 2006 Annual Sport Fishing Outing Barnstable Harbor, Barnstable, MA Wednesday, June 21, 2006 As an alternative to the Summer Workshop golf tournament the Chapter will be hosting a sport fishing trip. On Wednesday, June 21st the trip will leave the dock at 8:30AM sharp and return at approximately 12:30 PM. Please arrive in time to board the boats! Both trips will be leaving from beautiful Barnstable Harbor in Barnstable, MA. All reservations must be paid for in advance. Registration deadline is June 14, 2006 and MUST BE PREPAID. Deadline for payment is June 14 th. We will try to accommodate everyone, but it depends on boat space! Important Information: The excursion will have 6 people per boat at $100 per person. Bring your own food and drinks. Fishing will be for blues, stripers, etc. Boats go out RAIN or SHINE. There will be no refunds.
