Rex and Delores Murrell have owned this lovely Thunderbird for about seven years. Although they have done some things to the car in the past seven years, the car had already been restored prior the purchase. The car is quite often out and about being used for club events, Kana, Cobden fest and for just pure enjoyment and love of motoring. The lowering and raising of the roof brings joy to those who just love engineering at its best. This is an amazing site to see the engineering feat of the American s back in the sixties.

The meeting will commence at 7.30pm followed by supper provided by the Club. All members are requested to attend. 6 PRESIDENTS REPORT: We have had several very successful events over the past few months. It is pleasing to see so many members out and about even though the weather has not been the best. Membership renewals are now due; please make the effort to pay before the 30 th June 2015 or your membership will lapse. The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING is on Friday, 17 th July Nominations are needed for all positions. If you are interested in serving the club please nominate. Remember your vehicle is no good sitting in your shed, get it out and show it off. President, George Tolley. New members Timothy Church, Peter Coverdale, Aaron Crabb, John Nelson, Mark Sinclair, Martin Van Den Ende. Welcome to all those new members. Our events explained: PSM and PSA: Pleasant Sunday Mornings and Pleasant Sunday Afternoons, a popular way to catch up with other club members. Dinner nights: Friday night dinners will commence at 6.30pm at the venue unless otherwise stated on the calendar. To assist with numbers for table bookings it is essential that those wishing to attend contact the nominated committee member by the Wednesday before the event. Mid-Week Runs: Mid-week runs are on the first Wednesday in each month, departing from the Colac Visitor Information Centre (CVIC) unless otherwise stated on the calendar. WITH runs: WITH stands for Wind In The Hair. WITH runs resume on each Friday of the daylight saving months. WITH runs depart from the Colac Visitor Information Centre (CVIC) at the corner of Murray and Queen Streets, Colac, at 6pm unless otherwise stated on the calendar. Those participating should bring a BYO BBQ or picnic unless advised otherwise. Contact our Run Committee member if you have any queries. Changes to run destinations: In recent times we have suffered extreme weather events on days when we have a run scheduled. To give as much flexibility to members as possible (not to mention substituting an alternative activity that may be kinder to our vehicles) the club has ruled that in extreme weather conditions the run committee can change a run destination and may be changed at the departure point. If in doubt, please check with the Run Organizer close to the start time of the run. Members of other clubs are cordially invited to attend any events listed on our Calendar of Events. Events; If you are going to attend a function from the calendar of events, can you please book your place with the person listed. You need to book your Friday night meals by the Wednesday night prior to the event, this makes it easier to book numbers with the venue. Friday June 26 we are having our evening meal at Miss Francesca s in Johnson s Lane Colac, it is essential to make your booking by Tuesday 16 th June as there is limited seating. Contact Gwenda Box. We have had some great events over the past three months, including Fast & Furious 7, Lake Goldsmith steam rally, Werribee Zoo, these are just a few of the different events we are trying. Attendance numbers will be looked at to see if members are interested in these types of events. If you have any ideas for different events, just fill in the form provided in this newsletter and we will attempt to include it in the next calendar of events. 11 Funny Photo s Jockers Corner; The joys of daughters! The daughter asks her dad, Dad there is something that my boyfriend said to me, that I didn t understand. He said that I have a beautiful chassis, lovely airbags and a fantastic bumper. Her Dad said, You tell your boyfriend that if he opens your bonnet and tries to check your oil with his dipstick, I will tighten his nuts so hard that his headlights will pop out and he will start leaking out of his exhaust pipe. Older Ladies; Sitting on the side of the highway waiting to catch speeding drivers, a Police Officer sees a car puttering along at 22kph. The driver, obviously confused, says to him, Officer I don t understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit. What seems to be the problem? Maám, the officer replies, you weren t speeding but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers. Slower than the speed limit. No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly twenty two kilometres an hour, the old women says proudly. The Police Officer, trying to contain a chuckle, explains to her that 22 is the Highway number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the women grins and thanks the officer for pointing out her error. But before I let you go maám, I have to ask if everyone in this car is Ok? These women seem awfully shaken and they haven t made a peep this whole time, the officer says. Oh they ll be right in a minute officer. We just got off Highway 189. Not to bright; A not-too-bright but beautiful blonde was driving home one night when she was caught in a terrible storm. The hailstones were as big as golf balls, and her car was dented badly. Next day at the auto shop, a repairman decided to have a little fun at her expense. "To fix the dents in the body," he said, "drive home, park the car, and when the tailpipe is cool, get down on your knees and blow really hard into the tailpipe, and the dents will pop out. Later, a girlfriend of the blonde is driving by and sees her friend on her knees, blowing hard into the tailpipe. She asks what's going on and is told the story. The girlfriend laughs. "Well, duhhh! You need to roll up the windows first, silly!" Dedicated Locksmith; Someone at the auto repair shop locked the owners key s inside the car. While the locksmith was working on the driver s side door lock, the anxious owner walked up and tried the passenger s side door, it opened. The locksmith looked up. Yeah, I have already unlocked that one.
