1 Brazos County A&M Mother's Club Newsletter Established 1927 Spring Newsletter March '17-May '17 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Howdy Awesome Aggie Moms of Brazos County! It s hard to believe that this Aggie Mom year is drawing to a close. I am looking forward to our End of the Year banquet at the Phillips Event Center on April 25 th! I have enjoyed working with each of you as we spread Aggie Mom love to our students, painted bluebonnets in March, ballroom danced in February, played a few hands of LCR in January, filled Goody Bags in December, enjoyed hearing from the University Police in November, ate wings together in October, and welcomed new Aggie Moms at Howdy Tea in September. We have learned a little and laughed a lot as we worked to help raise funds for Brazos Valley area Aggies through our scholarships. Contents President s Message 1 Club Websites 1 Federation A&M News 1 Benjamin Knox Print 2 Aggies in Need 2 Aggie Birthdays 3 Aggie Mom Gifts 3 Program Events 3 Upcoming Events 4 Boutique Raffle Items 4 As your new Board of Directors and Committees begin their planning work this summer, I encourage you to let them know what types of activities you are interested in. They are always looking for ways for us to get together and socialize while keeping our mission in mind. I also encourage you to attend the Federation meetings each Fall and Spring. You can learn a lot about what other Aggie Moms clubs are doing and you might get a great new idea or two! Again, thank you for letting me serve as your President this academic year! I have had a great time in this role and look forward to continuing to build friendships in the coming years. Thanks and Gig Em, Laura Dean-Mooney President Special Inserts in this issue: Goody Bag Forms BCAMMC Executive Board Guest Suites University Center MSC ***************************************** For questions regarding this newsletter please contact: colleen.holmes@bryanisd.org We re on the Web! Many of us have had our Aggies experience something when we couldn t get to them to help. Having another Aggie Mom who can help meet that need can be very comforting. Aggies In Need to date: Lori provided transportation for the LA Aggie student (affected by last August's hurricane) to the airport for Spring Break and also gave him a lift to Koppe Bridge for an interview for an internship. She also has been in contact with two Aggies whose father was killed in a car accident recently, sending flowers on behalf of our club for the funeral. Marcy provided information for an Aggie Mom whose daughter needed help getting a flat tire changed, offering helpful phone numbers for tire repair places. Lori suggested the student should contact their insurance for roadside assistance. Please contact any of us if your Aggie is in need of some extra help!
