3 ADDITIONAL CONVENTION INFORMATION You may sign in and pick up your badges and Convention information at Harvey Hall Convention Center Thursday May 15 th 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Friday May 16 th 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday May 17 th 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Sales Room will be at Harvey Hall Convention Center. Vendors may begin setting up their sales tables at 8:30AM Thursday May 15 th. Beavers Historian General Message from the DRT Historian General: Let s Play Dress-Up Let s have some fun at the historical banquet at the 2008 DRT Convention in Tyler. I d like to encourage you to wear period costumes of either the Pioneer or the Early Daughters period (late Victorian and Edwardian). To that end, I have consulted Dr. Bruce Winders at the Alamo and I searched the internet for costume resources. Suggested Reading: Calico Chronicles: Texas Women and Their Fashions by Betty J. Mills (Texas Tech University Press) Dr. Winders suggested the following sources for authentic patterns. (He is far more interested in authenticity than I guess I am. ) 1. A documented 1840s pattern: The last pattern on the page and the Sutter's Fort 1840s Wrapper Dress Historically correct cotton cloth: You can search dates or eras to find what you want. 3.
