The Bangalore Book Festival will see books and literature from different states and different languages in India come together for a grand display. Sri. 6 MESSAGE It is the opportune time for the book Romeos, bibliophiles and the book worms to swim the ocean of books at Bangalore, the Garden city in India, I am overwhelmed to know that this time the grand annual Bangalore Book Festival has come with many new promises, to be bigger and better with a spread of about one million books on display. Mr. S. C. Sethi President - FPBAI The 10-days festival from 29th November to 8th December at Palace Grounds will have approximately 300 stalls with books in English, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Urdu spread over a trade area of more than 2.5 lakhs sq.ft. Subjects covered will range from pulp fiction to rarely available Indian editions of foreign academic publications. It is heartening to note that a turnover of over Rs. 18 Crore is expected this year. A very good response in terms of order from schools, universities and libraries is accepted. The event which would have a participation of over 250 Publishers and Distributors will certainly provide a meeting ground for authors & publishers. Not only this, the event will commemorate the literary diversity bringing it in conversation with the intellectuals and the prominent personalities across the world. The annual festival has been going on successfully since 2003, which shows that Bangaloreans are bestowed on with fantastic reading habits.
