1 NEWSLETTER NZC-USI Official Newslett er North Zone Chapter of Urolog ical Society of India President's Message March 2008 From the Desk of Honorary Secretary Dear Friends Dear Friends At the outset, it is a great honour and compliments that could bestow on me to serve as President of NZ-USI. There are others among us who are more deserving and certainly more able for this post. I recall the distinguished services and performance to have brought this society to its present esteem. I feel my self small when I look the list of past Presidents. I wish all of you a very happy and prosperous new year. Lucknow conference was a grand success by all standards. I on behalf of North zone chapter of urological society of India congratulate Prof. Rakesh Kapoor and Prof. Aneesh Shrivastav and their team for the exemplary organization. The highlight of the conference was the minute precision with which the scientific session started in the early morning. There were other academic activities in the zone which were not only well attended by the members but also substantially informative to our members. My foremost duty is to appeal the postgraduates and young urologists to participate freely in all activities of the society. This is their first platform where they can unveil their talent, which will shape their future. For the young urologist live workshop is a integral part of learning and we should not ignore this. Workshops are fetching more crowds and should be performed by master craftsmen who really have the vast experience. Our next conference is at Allahbad and Dr Dileep Chaurasiya has promised the best possible organization. About the scientific programme at Allahabad the executive council is planning to make some change in the format to make it more interactive and clinically oriented. A scientific committee is constituted for suggestions and making the conferece more interactive and broad based. Your inputs and suggestion will give us valuable direction in preparing the scientific programme. I would prefer that the scientific programme should be charted out by a committee which include a couple of senior urologists as well. We should utilize their experience in formulation of any programme which should be attractive to all section of the society. I look forward for your constructive criticism and suggestions.
