Interest and Enquiries to Aileen Stolckdale, , papastockdale@iinet.net.au Out: British Auto Classic Many Members of our Club have British cars so there is a positive interest in the revival of the British Auto Classic, The proposed site, Gt Eastern Hwy near Mundaring, Sunday Oct, 30 th would ideal for many of our Members. Swapmeet 2017 The Facility & Equipment Hire Form has been sent to Northam Rec. Centre and

3 accepted. The date next year is for Sunday 19 th February Nthm Heritage Forum re Como Rotary visit to Railway Museum complex 30 th April, advising Club plan to display Club vehicles & others willing to participate outside Club Shed. Avon Hospice approach made re item of choice. Oxygen Concentrator needed, waiting on information Moved : Peter Prytulak... Incoming $11, from Plates/keyrings, Swapmeet gates, cooldrinks, new Member & renewal (& incl $300 donations) leaving balance of $10, Overall from swapmeet $11, (incl $300 donations), expenditure so far $2, Apx expenditure to come, $4,000 for Cooldrinks/ice, Advertising, Oval fee, St John Ambulance and of course the item for the Avon Hospice. Carried Reports: Shed Report: Nothing in particular to report. It was noted that the vehicles need to be kept roadworthy, so interested Members need to keep up checks on the vehicles, especially with events coming up. When in attendance in the shed or building, there needs to be two people in attendance especially for safety reasons. Events: Brookton Old Time Motor Show 19 th March, The theme is "All Things Aussie", with a feature display celebrating 50 years of the Holden Torana. A 1959 Zephyr, a Phaeton & a Truck will be attending. Update to 5 places. Northam Motorsport Festival (Flying 50) 2 nd Apr Hill Climb, 3 rd Apr Race around the CBD. As advised, Members to display vehicles ea side of Town Hall, Gordon St, between Duke/Wellington Sts All Aussie Car Show Waroona Showgrounds, 10 Apr, 10am. Williams Gateway Expo, Things with Wheels 16 th April, free, sanbelita1@westnet.com.au / Shannons Classic Car Show Whiteman Park, 17 th Apr. 9a-3.30p. Estim. Up to 1,000 cars. Como Rotary visit Northam & Old Railway Complex, 30 Apr, vintage cars to be on display at start. Moondyne Festival Sun 1 st May, 9a 4p, step back in time1860s cultural atmosphere main Street of Toodyay, incl our vintage cars on display. Please advise Sylvia, if attending. Wundowie Iron Festival 15 th May, 9a 4pm. A good little show. British Car Day Gingin, 15 th May National Motoring Heritage Day 15 th May. A day when all vintage vehicles need to be seen out & about. Swapmeet A lot of pre-work is achieved leading up to the Swapmeet, so overall our Swapmeet excellent again especially with those at hand to help before and on the day, a big thank you. Marginally better financially by 1 2%. The Gate a little up & with the weather smiling down the cooldrinks really blossomed, thanks to Jim, Jen and their team. Not enough info, refer to Collectors Club. Como Rotary visit: to Northam and Old Northam Railway Station complex 30 Apr. Club cars to be on display in am, then Members can join rest of event while in Northam. Aust.Tax Office Notes from Council Motoring Clubs information only re ATO requirements. Shire of Northam re placing of railway carriage across the road as a child s playground. To be placed behind a fence, so no complications should occur.

4 Swapmeet 2016 Positives- The Lions suggestion of the top (west) gate for the exit was successful, with pedestrians able to enter from that area also. The change of area for display of vehicles was also successful and accessible, with more due notice to be taken to have no visible obstruction of view, as in large buses or vehicles. With more of the Oval free for Stalls, they were laid out in circles, better than last year. Negatives- The layouts on the Oval could be all 12m bays all in lines. 6m x 6m proved to be difficult as most had vehicles to deal with. We need to plan ahead by checking the dimensions of the oval, then plan bay areas. There needs to be signs everywhere, on all advertising ie flyers etc and definitely big signs at each gate. Check with Rangers how they may assist. The timing of entry for Stall holders, should it be earlier to relieve entry. After discussion it was decided that the entry time could stay at 6.30am, entry now started at 5am, keeping the entries moving and mostly clear. Postage is now $1, with other costs newsletters now $1.20 per month. The newsletter costs will need to be changed. Membership fees are due at the end of June. A notice to go in the newsletter to make sure Members are aware of this, that their Membership details are up to date with the Club. Legally, Concessional Licensing depends on Membership renewals. Presidents Report A couple of really good events this past month. The Brookton Old Time Motor Show, once again, a really good turn out by many clubs and exhibitors. Fred Plane was there with 3 of his wonderful stationary engines running like clockwork. Ed with his Z car was a little lonely as our clubs only exhibitor. Marrie and Milton were also selling their manuals and magazines. The weather held off for the most part but my thoughts were with the open top cars on the trip home as the storm was imminent. Last weekend was the Northam motor sport weekend, Sunday turned out to be a great day with some amazing cars racing and on display. Thank you too our many members who displayed their cars and had a day wandering and yarning to all and sundry about cars, local issues and what ever else. Thanks to the team who spend so much time and effort to make the event bigger and better each year. See you Saturday the 16 th 10.30am for the meeting a barby and good companionship.
