2 Venue The SIT-33 meeting will be held at the University of Colorado Boulder Main Campus. The meeting will be held in: University Memorial Center Room: Euclid Avenue Boulder, CO Known as the campus living room, thousands of people visit the University Memorial Center (UMC) every day to grab a bite to eat, enjoy free entertainment, shop the retail stores, study with free wireless internet or just hang out. The building is identified by the red circle on the adjacent campus map. For a more detailed map outlining the facility, please reference the building maps on page 3. Directions have also been included from the reserved accommodations and can be found on page 4.

7 Welcome to Boulder, Colorado "City on the Rise" Boulder recently made the list of 29 "Best Small Cities in the U.S.!" by The National Geographic Traveler survey. Boulder garnered the most superlatives of any city on the list, winning points for being Hipster Friendly (coffee shops, tattoo parlors, record shops, vintage stores), Musically Grooviest (music venues, live music, instrument stores), Most Caffeinated (coffee shops) and Sudsiest (breweries). Weather Boulder is 5,430 feet in elevation and has a sunny, semi-arid climate. Hydrating during your stay is very important, as altitude sickness (headache, nausea, shortness of breath, dizziness, and tiredness) can occur. Weather conditions can change rapidly throughout each day and from day to day. During the Spring months, we may be in the 80 s one day then snow the next so bring layers. 8 Institutes in Boulder The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) is a federally funded research and development center devoted to service, research and education in the atmospheric and related sciences.
