The qualified hiking guides from ASI Reisen give insight into the fauna and flora of the Tyrolean mountains and share their expertise on this region and its people. A good physical condition is required. The hikes are also suitable for fit children from the age of 8. Please always bring weatherproof clothing and boots, drinks, sun protection and headgear. All hikes include a stop at a mountain restaurant or hut Tyrolean specialities at reasonable prices. 2 Theme Hike on Mondays: AUTUMN COLOURS AT ZIRBENWEG The panoramic Zirbenweg between the Patscherkofel and Glungezer mountains is the heart of the trail network in the nature reserve above Innsbruck, with a fantastic view of the river Inn valley and the main Alpine ridge. The theme of this hike is the Zirbe the stone pine tree characteristic of this region and the importance of mountain forests. Patscherkofelbahn Boscheben - Zirbenweg Patscherkofelbahn Ascent 350 m Descent 350 m Distance 7 km Walking time approx. 3 hours (Patscherkofelbahn: cable car) Weather dependent if the weather doesn t permit this hike, an alternative hike will be offered in lower regions. 3 Theme Hike on Tuesdays IN THE SELLRAIN MOUNTAINS Bus ride to the hiking villages Gries in Sellrain valley and further on to Lüsens valley. You learn about interesting and curious details, for example the meaning of glacier milk and cherry soup. The hike leads from Juifenau to Praxmar and Lüsens. 4 Theme Hike on Wednesdays ALPINE URBAN RUSTLING OF THE LEAVES This hike at Hungerburg Nordkette is dedicated to the topic Alpine Urban and impressively shows the two faces of the Nordkette; the capital of the Alps on the one side, and the Alpine Park Karwendel on the other. We visit the nature room in the Umbrüggler Alm hut. 5 Theme Hike on Thursdays AUTUMN ATMOSPHERE AT MIEMING PLATEAU Bus ride to Wildermieming on the sunny plateau above the River Inn Valley. The hike takes us along the foot of the impressive mountains of the Mieming Mountain Range. We hike along the Ochsenbründlsteig to the Strassberghaus Alpine restaurant. The theme of this hike is the characteristic limestone rocks of this area, therefore also called the North-Tyrolean Dolomites. We will tell you interesting details about the geology and reclamation history of this region.
