Alfred Dadds, also 19, had worked for he Ilfracombe Gas Company before enlising. Ernes Rogers had worked for his faher s moor works company in he own, and was recenly married, he died aged 23. In 2001 Cairn Conservaion was formed and hey obained grans for ools, ba deecors and ables and chairs. There are 198 differen rees and plans; 69 differen species of birds recorded; 25 differen species of buerflies; 86 differen ypes of lichens indicaive of pure air and some rare spiders. In 2012 NDDC developed an Acion Plan o remove rhododendrons, mainain seps and keep pahways open. In 2016 he Cairn became he newes Naure Reserve preserving i for he fuure.
