As the clocks change on Saturday night the Club Mornings revert to Nights on Monaday. This is followed by Team Practice & Selection!! Come down to the Club and claim your place if you wish to play tennis for one of the Club s Teams. We look forward to seeing you. Take the opportunity to pay your subs and make yourself eligible for those fantastic Wimbledon tickets. This is followed on Sunday 2nd April by an Open Day. This is open to anyone to come down and play on the courts, chat to members of the Club and hopefully join. There will be refreshments and a barbecue. There will also be a prize draw of a free membership to a new member. Please come down and help meet and greet possible new members. Match practices continue through April on the usual evenings (Tuesday Mixed, Wednesday Ladies & Thursday Mens). Sunday 23rd April sees the Annual Horsley Trophy and Wimbledon Draw. Matches start Tuesday 25th April...Be ready! ***We need a lady! to Captain the York Ladies 2nd Team please. The Wimbledon Draw for eleven pairs of show-court tickets will be made during the afternoon of Sunday 23rd April To be eligible for this draw which includes a pair of tickets for the most famous game of the tennis in the world, The Wimbledon Mens Final! You must be a paid up member of Pocklington Tennis Club A British Tennis Member To have Opted in to Wimbledon tickets Please remember to tidy up after yourself if you have been using the Clubhouse. It needs to look smart for any visitors to the Club. Some visitors maybe potential new members for the Club and we must create the correct impression for them. It is all of our responsibilities to keep the whole place smart as it should be. Please take rubbish away if you see the bin is full. Turn off lights and heaters etc. Thank you

3 Newsletter Page 3 Keys Pocklington Tennis Club Clothing Keys to the Clubhouse are available to senior members from Chris French for a cost of 5 The Tennis Club have arranged with Sue at the Schoolwear Shop, 62 High Street, Holme on Spalding Moor YO43 4EN (Tel: ) schoolwearshop@hotmail.co.uk to obtain tennis clothing which is embroidered with the Club s logo (Pictured right). Price examples are : (All including embroidery) Childs Polo 7 Adults Polo 10 Ladies Fit 12 Sue can order almost any make of clothing in, therefore almost all different qualities too. There is a minimum of four items per order. Embroidery of the logo is charged at 2.50 per item, but can only be embroidered on brand new items. Opted in? Tennis Club Social Scene If anyone would like to assist or have any ideas for social events please contact Angi Collins. The Club will welcome any help to put on fundraising events. It is your Club! 4 Pocklington Tennis Academy By Sean Evans - Head Coach There has been a great start to the new coaching programme; Good numbers on the junior programme, and exciting time with junior club-night being alongside junior coaching on a Monday evening Adult programme has been absolutely brilliant, Ladies Morning and Cardio have really taken off. EVERYONE NEEDS TO TRY CARDIO TENNIS! Ask friends who have been, it's so fun and good fitness! We have had so much demand that there will be a second cardio session provided during the week. Please remember to take advantage of your first private lesson discount. We are in the process of forging links in the Community through the schools Overall, I have loved my time at the club so far, had great support from the committee, and the members who attend coaching. The numbers have been good, and will only get better - so get talking to friends and bring them down for a trial session!!
