Existing regional transit services are cooperatively provided by local municipalities and the Public Transportation Authority. For the purposes of the Framework Study, all transit services provided within a metropolitan area, including transit services within nearby suburban communities are considered part of the regional area transit system. For example, the Phoenix region s transit system includes services provided by the City of Phoenix, City of Tempe, Public Transportation Authority and others. Likewise, the Dallas region transit system includes Dallas Area Rapid (DART), Fort Worth and other transit services within the Dallas region.
