2 Item Prisoner of War Camp C - P.O.W Camp 20 The Susan Sheffield collection consists of a Vermeil winning 158pp exhibit including, covers, postcards, photographs, translations from German to English from within the correspondence. A truly remarkable selection! Comprises of 48 photographs, 54 covers, 25 official POW postcards, 1 FBI Wanted Poster, 1 Mail Bag tag, 1-8 x 10 original advertisement 1910ca for the Sanatorium, Commemorative Covers. There are in addition to the photographs above 22, real colour photo s showing the property before it was developed. The reference library contains 13 reference books. The camp was the only Interment Camp in Canada exclusively for the incarceration of high ranked German Officers and their Aides. The Camp housed on average 485 prisoners, and was regularly inspected annually by the I.C.R.C. The collection includes: Books pertaining to POW Camp 20 Introduction to guarding prisoners of war in Canada Robert Henderson 124 pp cerlox bound A guide to world war 2 sensor handstamps used in POW camps in Canada and a nominal role of veterans guard of Canada members Henderson 112 pp (water damaged bottom right corner, throughout but completely legible) 1 sheet of Little Norway stamps pane of 50 stamps mint, small crease in salvage 2 envelopes of misc photos 15 Little Norway cover, Toronto Little Norway cover, Little Norway on piece Behind Canadian Barbed Wire David J Carter 334 pp German Prisoners of War in Canada and their artifacts by R.
