"WAY" indicates that this letter handed to a mail courier while on his route between the different post offices. The couriers had a special pouch for such letters and had to mail them at the next post office. LR corner repaired. Very scarce. $150.00

2 Item Wreck of Empress of Ireland 1914, cover and letter (toned) with stamp missing from Vancouver BC to Liverpool with purple recovered by divers from wreck S.S. Empress of Ireland, sank May 29, stamp having floated off while immersed, Reverse with oval Ottawa DLO. Nice piece that would fit an interrupted mail collection or an Admiral collection. Perhaps just a crush. $400.00

3 Item Harvey NB registration receipts 1856, 1859, 1860, 3 different registration receipts from Harvey NB for letters going to St. John. Signed by the postmaster J.M. Stevens (PM until 1907). Trio $100.00

20 Item Valcartier c1940, Canadian Legion War Service recreation hut, Valcartier Camp, Quebec. Unused. $35.00 Item Valcartier Canada-East 1855, stampless folded letter from Valcartier CE (today St. Gabriel de Valcartier) paid 3d to St. Eustache (b/s). This business letter is from Reverend David Shanks to James Marshall. Reverend Shanks was Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Canada in connection with the Church of Scotland. Quebec and Montreal transit (b/s). A very scarce county of Quebec letter. $ Valcartier military base was established in 1914 on land of the original Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier (Seigneurie de Saint-Gabriel, 1647). This site was chosen for being at less than one day's walk from the transport ships at the Québec naval port.
