First with AFAD on * September 6 th we had a Pluck a Duck for a Buck booth. We got some great PR from this came in a little short from goal of money raised but we ll get it next year Food Caravan was *September 13th this was the last one. The state association is preparing a CARE project with more details to follow in later months. Then we had our local Soccer Shootout *September 20th where 52 children participated with Hailey Eresman, Elizabeth Martinez, Hailey Hannah, Carter Pedroza, Jonathan Sanchez, Christian Dominquez for the U-8 category, Mia Pomerlee, Julie Rogers, Alyssa Quinones, Mason Hale, Justin Forbes, Alejandro Vasquez for the U-10 category, Natalia Vasquez, Kylie Trueba, Abby Smith, Anthony Moyett, Taylor Parkhill, Shawn Martinez for the U- 12 category and rounding out the top three in the U-14 is Emily Martinez, Amber Forbes, Rebecca Craig, Jacob Herrboldt, Jose Perez, Bailey Rogers these 24 are given the opportunity to represent Mountain Home at state in Blackfoot on October 4th. *September 27th is our JR Golf Program day. Any questions should be directed to Susan Ketchum. October is ENF month we will be doing a 50/50 drawing at each meeting and I would like to challenge all members to donate at least $1.00 to this worthy cause. Our lodge received $ in grants from ENF in just the last couple of years. *October 11th is Oktoberfest cost is only $12.00 a person tickets are on sell now, deadline is October 6th. *October 14th our DD will be here for his annual review dinner will be served at 6PM cost is $10.00 a person menu is stuffed pork chops. Then *October 31st is Halloween we will assist with Safe & Sane at Hacker from 5PM-8PM. We will also be hosting a haunted maze and dance for grades 7-12 from 7PM-10PM. These events are excellent chances to experience the wonders of Elkdom. I hope to see you at least at one of our many fantastic events. ELKS CARE ELKS SHARE
2 Mountain Home Elkettes Thank you fellow Elkettes for the great meeting in Septmber. We have a fun year ahead of us. The annual Christmas Bazaar is well underway. Tickets were distributed to the members to get a jump ahead on sales. Save the date.november 15 th at the lodge. Marie Bolinger is getting the vendors lined-up. Our own members take care of the cinnamon rolls, stew and pies. Great prizes and a lot of fun. This is our main fund raiser for the year. Thank you Ms. Dee and Ms. Bess for hosting us. Birthday greetings to those born in September and early best wishes to those whose birthdays are in October. Get well wishes for those feeling a little under-the-weather. Any questions or concerns, please feel free to give me a call. Cindy Narramore Elkette President From the PER S Fall will be upon us in the weeks to come. Leaves will come off of the trees, another thing to rake them up. We are down to 22 Delinquents, for the year, need to bring your dues if behind. This money is used as a budget item. The DD will be here for his annual visit on the 14 th of October of 14. Please all members try and attend the lodge meeting on the 14 th, he should have information we all need to know about the elks. I have been gone on vacation in Sept, and like to thank Tim for filling in for me. See you around the Lodge. Jim Where did the summer go?? It seems like the older we get the faster time fly s by. We are starting the Fall Activities with an Oktoberfest. This will be October 11, from 6:00-10:00 P.M. You may have a choice of Brat s or 1/2 a Chicken with all the trimmings, all for $12.00 per person. We will have German Beer, and the dining room bar will be open. This will be held in the dining room and the Lodge room. This is an NONE SMOKING area of the building. There will also be designated drivers. Proceeds will go to the PER VO TEC scholarship.
