1 June & July 2014 HRRVC Chapter 309 June & July 2014 Newsletter Looking at the coming season Special points of interest: Region VII & AZ/NM Rally set for Tucson Joint 71 & 309 Chapters Christmas Rally Second Western International Rally scheduled Inside this issue: Lake Powell Outing 2 Armstrongs in Utah 3 While we may be just beginning to enjoy the benefits of summertime, it is time to also look forward to the next season of outings. The first outing will be our AZ State Rally, which will also be part of the Region VII and NM Rallies. More information about this event is found elsewhere in this publication. We are seeking wagonmasters and locations for events in November and/or February. December shall see a joint gathering for chapters 309 and 71 at the Distant Drums RV Resort in Verde Valley to celebrate the Holiday Season together. Quartzsite will be our outing in January. Chapter 309 will be joined by HRVVC members and guest from TX, CA, NV, NM, and AZ. March's campout will be in the Casa Grande area. The Second Western International Rally will be held in April in Hemet, CA. The season is shaping up to be an exciting variety of outings. News Briefs 4 Eastern International Rally Registration Region VII - AZ - NM Rally Registration Quartzsite Rally Registration Chapter 309 Membership Form AZ/NM Region VII Rally The event will be at the KOA (former Lazydays) RV Resort in Tucson. Plans are now progressing to both line up presentations and activities for the four day event. Ideas being explored include presentations concerning a fashion show, an antique Model A car show. We shall also have a charity auction. Of course there are a variety of other speakers covering topics of interest to we who enjoy camping, meeting people and this lifestyle of mobility. Having no pain, my current plan is to wait and upon our return home in October it is then off to Los Algodones, and a visit to my dentist.

So for the summer months we arranged for a return to Prince William Forest Park outside of Washington, D.C.

The trip began with stops along the way at two Elks clubs - one in Amarillo and then in Tulsa.

"No good deed goes unpunished," so goes an old bromide. Our first night on the road, out drops an upper bridge of mine. Planning to be away for six months, I thought what now? Having no pain, my current plan is to wait and upon our return home in October it is then off to Los Algodones, and a visit to my dentist. Let us hope that all goes well with our travels and being with family and volunteering. Two years ago we volunteered for the National Park Service and we enjoyed the experience. So for the summer months we arranged for a return to Prince William Forest Park outside of Washington, D.C. Returning to the East Coast shall offer chances to visit with friends and former students in the D.C area.
