1 Monterey Bay Equestrians September Hi All, President Message Well, you missed a great time at Big Meadows. There was great turnout with good food, friends, and rides. We ever made some new friends. SUNSHINE REPORT Sympathy cards to: The Garcia s for loss of Yogi Laura Azzaro for loss of her dad Erin Beatie for loss of her dad Get well card for Susan Right now, I am finalizing my packing for Wrights Lake for another great adventure. The Skillman campout has been cancelled-as stated in the you just received. Sunday is trying to do a replacement camp at what sounds like a fun place. Please respond to her asap so that she can know how to proceed with her plans. Hopefully, everyone is having a great summer with lots of horse time. See you on the trail, OR better yet, at a meeting: get involved, we need your input, Prez Liz If you know of a member who could use a little sunshine please let Sydney Blankenship, the sunshine lady know or sydrose_99@msn.com Meeting Schedule 2017 September Watsonville October Prunedale November Watsonville December Prunedale (2019 Ride Planning Meeting) Goodies for September Mike Pinto Ride Schedule 2018 September 22 Pebble Beach/Indian Village 11am Syd Blankenship October Point Reyes Ladies Only Ride Campout Sunday Minnich November 9-13 Lake San Antonio Campout Mike & Patti Garcia December1 MBE Christmas Party Party Patti Garcia Please note the day of the Holiday Party has changed
2 Pebble Beach Ride- September 22 Join us on September 22 as we ride the trails of Pebble Beach. 10 dollar donation requested for the rental of the Indian Village. We will meet at the Indian Village where there is plenty of room for trailer parking. Ride time is 11am. Bring a potluck dish for lunch after the ride. Trails are varied, but nothing physically challenging. Directions: Address is 1154 The Dunes Rd. Hwy 1 to Pebble Beach/Pacific Grove/Hwy 68W exit. Head towards Pacific Grove on 68W. It becomes Forest Ave as you enter PG. Turn left on Sunset Dr. Turn left onto 17 Mile Dr. At the gate let them know that you are with MBE and they will let you pass. After Spanish Bay turn right to stay on 17 Mile Dr. After passing Bird Rock look for The Dunes Rd on your left. Turn onto The Dunes Rd (you will see the Gingerbread House) and drive through the gate into the Indian Village. Note: Do NOT enter 17 Mile Dr. from the Pebble Beach entrance which is right off of Hwy 1. This will take FOREVER! RSVP Sydney Blankenship sydrose_99@msn.com MBE Skillman Horse Camping Canceled Alternative opportunity In making reservations for the Monterey Bay Equestrians Skillman Horse Camping Trip, it was realized that they officially close the campgrounds on September 25th, therefore Skillman s MBE Campout is canceled. A few of us are planning on going to Rancho Oso RV Park & Horse Camp in Santa Barbara instead since Skillman is canceled. The proposed dates would be October 4 8 based on availability. I m happy to host a MBE campout there if anyone is interested. Please let me know if you are truly interested so I know if its worth my time to research group rates/reservations and availability. Here is some information if interested. Rancho Oso RV Park & Horse Camp Amenities Corrals Hook-ups Round Pen Arena Wash Rack Miles and miles of trails Lodge/Store/mini golf/etc. Pool/Spa Covered Wagons/Teepees & cabins (if you don t want to bring an RV) Please let me know as soon as possible so I can get back to anyone interested with further information.
