Do you know how important your membership is to the Chapter? Members are needed to fill the important positions as officers, directors and committee chairpersons to keep the Chapter active. All of us enjoy the once-a-month meetings, the great trips and the wonderful friendships we have made over the years. But it takes work and members accepting positions for all of these things to exist. Also, please remember that the membership dues, the sale of the 50/50 tickets and participating in the fundraisers are important. They keep cash in the Chapter checking account for printing charges, paper supplies, drinks for the refreshment table and important donations made by the Chapter. Hope we have a mild winter. The National AARP Card, not the local Chapter card, is needed for all benefits. A receipt will be issued to those wanting proof of payment (only with an enclosed SASE for those renewing by mail). 2. All membership dues MUST be paid by December 31 of each year for the following year s membership. Since this was not approved in time for inclusion in the Nov/Dec newsletter, membership renewals for 2016 have been extended to January 31. Memberships not received by this date will be removed from the roll and you will no longer receive the newsletter. Thank you all for your cooperation in Let s make 2016 greater. In 2016 we will continue to collect personal care items, costume jewelry, knick-knacks, eyeglasses, clean clothing, used stamps, soda can tabs, all glossy paper (magazines, sale ads, etc.), dozen size egg cartons, clean stuffed animals, metal wire hangers, computers/printers/accessories, newspapers, old pillows, towels, sheets, dog or cat food. We will find a home for anything you bring to us. If you have furniture, we will arrange for it to be picked up. This will go to people who are in need. In April, May and September we will be collecting school supplies for disadvantaged children. AND WATCH OUT, we may recycle you! We are looking for an assistant to help with Community Service. Don t forget, we also have a coupon and book exchange. Many thanks for bringing us socks for Christmas for children at the Mechanicsburg home. Thank you ladies for making it a delicious meeting. Our Christmas luncheon was held December 11th at the West Shore Country Club. The food was tasty, the favors were cute and the poinsettias accentuated the season. The entertainment, Musically Yours, as usual were delightful. They warmed our hearts and lifted our spirit.
