9 FEBRUARY TOUR PICTURES On February 23rd, five A s and six modern irons had a great breakfast at the Diamond Hotel and toured out to David Traver s house for a great day. We lucked out with the weather, it started out cold but turned into a beautiful day. Dave had some of the old antique engines running; there was Irish coffee on the wood stove, rust everywhere, and the player pianos made wonderful music. Those that where unable to make this tour missed a super day. Much of the enjoyment of being lucky enough to own a Model A is getting on the road with interesting destinations and being with friends and people that have similar interest, so turn off the TV and smart phone, get off the couch and join us on a tour. Better yet, plan a tour or let a member know if you have an interesting place in mind and someone else can put a tour together. Wendy THE SPARTON page 9

11 Overheard on the Party Line THE HAZARDS OF GOLFING Sam and Fred were out golfing, and as they approached the tee for the fifth hole, Sam turned to Fred and said, "Those two ladies on the sixth tee are too slow. Why don't you run up there and ask if we can play through?" Fred jogged up to the sixth tee, and just before he got there, he turned and ran back to the fifth tee as fast as his legs could carry him! "I can't talk to those ladies! One of them is my wife and the other is my m*stress! You go up and ask them!" Sam jogged up to the sixth tee, and just before he got there, he turned and ran back as fast as his legs could carry him! As he approached Fred, he exclaimed, "By God, it's a small world, isn't it?" BAD WEATHER BLONDE A blonde was driving home after a game and got caught in a really bad hailstorm. Her car was covered with dents, so the next day she took it to a repair shop. The shop owner saw that she was a blonde, so he decided to have some fun. He told her to go home and blow into the tailpipe really hard, and all the dents would pop out. So, the blonde went home, got down on her hands and knees and started blowing into her tailpipe. Nothing happened. So she blew a little harder, and still nothing happened. Her blonde roommate saw her and asked, "What are you doing?" The first blonde told her how the repairman had instructed her to blow into the tail pipe in order to get all the dents to pop out. The roommate rolled her eyes and said, "Uh, like hello! You need to roll up the windows first.." BLONDES BUILD A HOUSE Lynn and Julie were doing some carpenter work on a Habitat for Humanity house. Lynn was nailing down house siding, would reach into her nail pouch, pull out a nail and either toss it over her shoulder or nail it in. Julie, figuring this was worth looking into, asked, "Why are you throwing those nails away?" Lynn explained, "When I pull a nail out of my pouch, about half of them are defective and have the head on the wrong end and I throw them away." Julie got completely upset and yelled, "You moron! Those nails aren't defective! They're for the other side of the house!" RETIREMENT While vacationing in a remote area of Alaska, I met an old mountain man, wise in the ways one need be to live in an extreme wilderness area like he did. I asked him about the weather, did it rain a lot? He said; "See those mountains over there" and he pointed to them.' I replied, "Yes." "Well," he replied, ".. if you can't see those mountains, that means it's raining. If you can see them, that means it's going to rain." Why were the pilgrims allowed to land anywhere? I want to be broadminded. But I am sure it was only the extreme generosity of the Indians that allowed the pilgrims to land. Suppose we reverse the case. Do you reckon the pilgrims would ever let the Indians land? Why the pilgrims wouldn t even allow the Indians to live, after they let them land. Will Rogers THE SPARTON page 11
