1 Tri-County Trail Association Trailways Bringing Horsemen Together 2662 Downing St. SW, East Sparta, Ohio Volume 53, Issue 4 April 2014 Best year for the Cowboy Chili Cook Off! Chili Cook Off After MANY retastings by the judges we narrowed it down to the winners! Congrats! 1st - Andrea George 2nd - Patty Farmer 3rd - Elaine Kirk 1st 2nd 3rd We had 12 Chili s to taste test this year and they were all fabulous! Surprisingly even with this many they were all different. It was super hard to decide a winner this year! Even the pavilion was full with taste testers and a beautiful day. Was great to see everyone after such a long winter!! Thank you Patty Farmer & Debbie Carroll for hosting the Cook Off, making the yummy grill cheese and even having time to bring some of your own chili! Thank ya ll all who judged the chili as well, you had a super tough job!! Easter sure brings the kids out! She always seems to have stolen that niece of hers for pictures lol Such nice smiling faces everywhere! Or is it because everyone is full of a ton of Chili! Inside this edition: 2014 Trail Hours Info Officers 2 Lot List & Parade dates 2 Spring Ride Flyer 3 April Meeting Notes 4 OQHA All Breed Flyer 5 Calendar of events 6 Trailways Business Pages 3,5,7 Membership Application 8 Corral Application 8 Tri-CoTrails.org So nice to see soo many kids in camp! We had at least 17 kids in the egg hunt! Thanks to Lynne Shuman, Candy Werstler & Sandy Belcastro the kids had loads of candy, eggs, games and prizes! They also did an awesome job on the Easter dinner (as always!) Man I couldn't believe all the people who came out! I think we had the most we ever had in attendance. The pavilion had people at every table! Thank you everyone who came out, it was a busy day with all the kids so if we missed saying HI to anyone we hope you still had a great time. Being that busy with kids and fixing food & games is hard to get to everyone, so thank ya ll for coming out! Couldn t have been a nicer day of weather too! Loads of new faces! We hope to see ya ll more this year! Yummy Candy! 1 Reminder April - September Meetings are at camp Starting off the year right, Born for the Banquet, And attended the Chili Cook Off and Easter! Well we have had people sign up for most of the events to run them but we need a crew of 2-3 people for each event to take charge of cleaning up after each meal. We will try and post a sign up sheet on the kitchen door at events to help with clean up after each meal. Feel free to jump in & help! Clean Shopping We voted on getting cleaning supplies and tools for camp/kitchen. $500 limit. Candy will be doing the shopping. We voted to get items for the bathrooms, just to be used on the bathrooms, like buckets, cleaner, rags, brooms etc. Clippers for camp & trails, shovels, rakes, hoses, shop vac. All will be painted Tri-Co, will need help with this. Many of our members always bring items to do these jobs and we want to be able to supply the items so more can help out & not have to rely on what others bring. Thank you for all who have been doing this!! Driveway Malivites will be expanding our driveway that goes from pavilion to dump station on the far side of camp. Per state regulations we have to make it 2 lanes. They have quoted $4000. Thank you for doing this for us. Dump a little here.little there.over yander. Tom Fisher has found a 4 wheel Cushman dump cart that works. Great for moving some gravel & tools for jobs in camp & Trails. Voted to $1000. Emergency! Have had a lot of trouble in camp with stolen propane, kitchen items, missing firewood, hid hoses and now someone has messed with the breaker box as Jessie was fixing the water which could have killed him if he didn t see it first!! With this the Trustees have voted it is past time for cameras to be installed. As soon as we can get them in they will be up & running. DVR will be in a locked box in the kitchen so that it can not be tampered with. Signs will be posted. We hope this will eliminate any more issues, or catch the intruder. We are assuming it is a random person & not a member doing these things as well. Being taped will allow us to charge them also if continued. We hope you will feel safer knowing there is security cameras in camp. No streaking please! HAHAHA & they will work in the dark! 50/50 Debbie Tucker Won the 50/50 Congrats!
