St. Jude Dance and Auction: Preliminary results in and it looks like we will be handing Julie Graves, Saddle Up for St. Jude, a check for $5, Wahoo!!! Denise Elwell will provide a breakdown at the March meeting Upcoming Events/Special Dates: Illinois Horse Fair, March 4-6, 2016 The Equestrian Lifestyle Ride Your Dream. Illinois State Fairgrounds, Springfield, Illinois St. Patricks Day, March 17 th. Peoria s 36th St. Patrick's Day Parade steps off on Thursday March 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the corners of Monroe and Hancock Streets. Don t drink too much green beer! Spring, the first day of spring is just around the corner, March 20 th.wahoo!!!

Good Friday, March 25 th and Easter, March 27 th February Meeting Highlights: Tony Troyer from HCI spoke at the meeting about HCI Membership, the 2016 Horse Fair and some legislation issues coming up

In an effort to get some badly needed maintenance on our horse trails, there will be a trail clean-up day on Saturday, April 30 th.

The work will be coordinated by park Superintendents and will include local trail riding clubs. Jubilee is one of the 7 selected parks.

2 Good Friday, March 25 th and Easter, March 27 th February Meeting Highlights: Tony Troyer from HCI spoke at the meeting about HCI Membership, the 2016 Horse Fair and some legislation issues coming up regarding the equine industry. He also talked about a partnership between HCI, FFA and 7 Illinois Equestrian Parks. In an effort to get some badly needed maintenance on our horse trails, there will be a trail clean-up day on Saturday, April 30 th. HCI has worked with Springfield to get approval to use members of local FFA chapters to help in this effort. The work will be coordinated by park Superintendents and will include local trail riding clubs. Jubilee is one of the 7 selected parks. Please put this date on your calendars and look for follow-up communication from Jerry Lutker concerning this clean up event. This is a great way to help support Jubilee Equestrian Park! Regarding the Illinois Horse Fair: Todd Rettig, IDNR, will be at the horse fair on Saturday, March 3 rd, in a seminar room. HCI will be conducting a Chuck-A-Horse fundraiser for $5 per toss. Julie Graves will have a booth for Saddle Up for St. Jude and has offered to share it with Jubilee Riders. If you are available to man the booth at any time during the horse fair, please let Julie know Club Rides will be held predominately at Jubilee Equestrian Park. The goal is to do at least one club ride per month. For these rides, riders should be ready to ride by 10:00 AM. Afterwards we will meet under the pavilion for lunch; unless otherwise noted everyone is responsible for their own lunch. The Memorial Day Club Ride will be held on Monday, May 30 th ; ride out at 10:00 AM; cookout/potluck lunch afterwards; club will provide meat and buns for this event. Many of our club members will probably camp & ride Saturday and Sunday as well Memorial Day Weekend. Jerry Lutker will be scheduling some impromptu Wednesday Rides at Jubilee; watch Facebook and for messages from Jerry regarding these rides membership dues are due. $10/single and $15/family. Checks should be made payable to Jubilee Riders and mailed to Denise Elwell (see club roster for address). Next Meeting: March 10, The official account of the previous month s meeting is contained in the minutes which will be read at the meeting. ALL meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at the Brimfield Evangelical Free Church on the corner of Maher Road and Route 150 in Brimfield; 6:30/meeting 7:00. Elections are held at the November meeting; there is no meeting in December. President s Note: I think everyone would agree that our St. Jude Dance and Auction was, again, a great success. entertainment with help from Todd Benson. Renee and Sharon should be congratulated on a job well done as well as members that helped. Again, Eileen did a great job with the horse race.

Statewide Trail Work Day is Saturday, April 30. Tony Troyer from Horseman s Council of IL talked to the club about this at our last meeting. We will be participating in this along with FFA. Hopefully, we will have a good turnout. More discussion on this will be at our March meeting. Saturday, February 27, the trails were open. Hope you all have been able to get out and ride.
