1 Near North Trail Riders News September 8, News by Sandy DuChateau Mark Your Calendars Next Meeting : October 13th 9:00 am at the Athelstane Town Hall County Rd A & C ATV Ride: September 15th Next club event: 26 th Annual Brat Fry October 20 th Nimrod Inn 11:00 4:00 Membership Forms One last reminder regarding memberships. This will be your last newsletter if we do not receive your membership form and dues by the October meeting. If you have not sent it in as of this letter remember to do it by October 13 th. If you have mislaid or lost the membership form that was sent to you in your June newsletter I can mail you a new one by calling And if you decide not to re-new your membership that is ok too. Member Attendance Drawing Four numbers had to be drawn at Saturdays meeting before we had a winner. The winner received a check for $14.00 Equipment and Trail Report Some repair and maintenance work had to be done on the club tractor. The club has on loan another tractor from Beaver Machine in Coleman to continue maintaining the trails for summer riding. Map Meetings Alliance Meeting Marinette county Alliance Meetings will resume once again in September. Meetings for the new trail map have been going on all summer with distribution sometime in October. July ATV-UTV Ride 9 machines and 14 people went on the ride to Florence for lunch and made the loop to Dunbar and back to the Northwoods. There had been rain prior to the ride so it was reported that there were some deep water holes along the trail.
2 September ATV-UTV Ride Another ride is planned for September 15 th. Those that would like to go should meet at 10:30 on the trail across from the Northwoods Bar and leaving by 11:00 for a ride to The FireLane on County Rd C for lunch. After lunch it will be decided were the ride will go next. Possibly to Pembine and then back to the Northwoods. First Event of the New Fiscal Year The first event was the ATV trail fund raiser held at the Northwood s Bar on the ATV-UTV trail from11:00 until 4:00 on August 4 th. The club sold brats & hamburgers. Also a corn roast with pie and Ice Cream for dessert. There were also bucket raffles to choose from. It was a very warm day and a lot of people turned out to support the club and the trails. I want to thank Sally & JC owners of the Northwoods our hosts for this club event. They are member business owners in the club. So THANK YOU SALLY & JC. Also I want to thank everyone who helped out that day. The committee greatly appreciates any help from people with the club events. 26 th Annual Brat Fry The annual brat fry is coming up on October 20 th at the Nimrod Inn in Athelstane. The club will be selling brats, hamburgers and chili that day. There will also be a meat raffle, bucket raffles and a raffle. Anyone who wants to help out at any of the club functions are more than welcome. Help is always needed to help serve the food and help out with the raffles. The brats are always purchased from Pelkins in Crivitz as well as the meat for the raffle. So come and join us The Near North Trail Riders for a day of fun. New Club Business The club has new business owners at the FireLane which is now called Dawn & Bobs FireLane. So when you are out and about stop in and say Hi and welcome them to the club. The Firelane will be hosting the annual meat raffle in January. And that is about all from me for this month. Hope everyone has been enjoying the summer months and boy oh boy have we been having some hot and humid days. But I am not complaining when we get those way below 0 days during the winter I always think to myself boy maybe I should complain about those hot humid days. And soon the kids will be heading back to school and in a few weeks after that the trees will be putting on their prettiest colors and fall will be upon us. Of course I do believe I live in the prettiest place in the world when it comes to the fall colors. And hopefully like our president said at the meeting on Saturday that we get a bunch of snow in December and it stays all winter with more to come. Now have a great month until I return in September with your next newsletter.
