Hard to believe that 2017 is almost gone. It has been a good year for the club. I would like to thank those that have held an office this year and I greatly appreciate all of the help that you have given me. You are the ones that have made the club a success that it has been. Also, to the members that have participated in the events that the club has had. Billy has done a wonderful job at planning the road trips this year and from the way that it looks, the road trips for We are still missing three positions for the club next year. They are Secretary, Sunshine, and Christmas Party. The other positions, the incumbent has stated that they would continue. If you would like to volunteer, run, or would like to nominate someone for a position, please let me know before the Christmas Party on December 10th. I would like to say that the pay is enormous and the benefits are fantastic. In case you have not heard, Billy Williams has volunteered for the position of President and I have for the Vice President position (unless anyone else would like to take the position). The road trips have been chosen and partially planned for next year, just need to schedule in some attractions along the way and while we are there. So far we will have one for every month except for July and August because of the heat and December because of the Holidays and the Christmas Party for the club.. There will not be a June meeting because of the National Meet in Dearborn, MI. Later in the newsletter you will find some of the information on the National Meet and some of the activities that are before and after the meet in the area. As much as I hate to remind everyone, your 2018 dues need to be paid by February 1 st. Please fill out the renewal/application sheet and send it in with your dues. It is important so that we can make sure that everything is correct in the phone directory prior to handing it out this year. Sorry about that Randy. The Arlington Parade of Lights will be on December 9th. If you are interested, contact me so that I can give you the information on the Parade. If you do not have a vehicle running, come on down and join us for a very fun time. Do not forget the Christmas Party on December 10th. It will be at the Diamond Oaks Country Club. If you are planning to attend, please contact Debbie Emmerson as soon as possible with the count. We need this to let Diamond Oaks know how many to set up for. Once again the price is $26 per person. For those that want to participate, we will once again have a gift exchange and gather new children s underwear for Mission Arlington. Hope to see everyone at the Party and on the road Al Lone Star Early Ford V-8 Club Website

It has been updated and is much easier to read and understand. I have also updated the Facebook site and our Yahoo site. Martha Moseley!!!!ITS THAT TIME AGAIN!!!! Hate to say it, but it is time to renew your dues for So that we can keep our records straight, send the newsletter to the correct place, birthdays are correct (you know the problems I am having with this), and contact information is correct. The dues are $25 per year and if you joined in October, you are covered for the next year. Also you MUST be a member of the National EFV8 Club to be a member of the Lone Star Club. You can get an application or join by going to and click on Membership. This will take you to another area where you can either a) LOGIN I am already a member b) NEW MEMBER I want to join the club or c) Download a mail-in application form. A copy of the mail in form for those without computers is available on page 10 of the newsletter. To make it even more convenient, you can even call toll free Christmas Party Gift Exchange Rules Each person selects a number from a basket, there will be a basket for gals and one for guys. This will determine the order in which a person gets to select a gift. Number 1 gal and Number 1 guy goes first and gets to select and unwrap a gift. They should open the gift at the front of the room and show everyone the gift. Everyone oohs and aahs or mentally thinks, Boy, I m glad I didn t select that. Number 2 then selects. But he/she may take Number 1 s gift or may select a gift from the pile. If he/she takes Number 1 s gift, Number 1 gets to select again from the pile. After Number 2 he/she has finished their turn, Number 3 gets to select. Once again, he/she may select any opened or unopened gift. Each time a gift is taken away from someone, that person gets to select again. They may select any gift except the one that was just taken away. He/She may however, have the opportunity to select it again later. Some gifts are occasionally more popular and may get stolen several times. After the gift has been stolen 3 times it is frozen and may not be stolen again, it goes home with the current owner. At the end of the game, Number 1 gets to select again, and take someone else s gift if they want to, but they do not have to. They are forcing a trade. The only gifts that can t be taken are those that are frozen. Don t be afraid to swipe a gift from someone. Let s Party!!!!

Your Grand National Committee, in partnering with the Henry Ford for 2018, specifically scheduled the GNM to coincide with the Motor muster so that GNM attendees could take advantage of attending both meets while in town. The theme of this coming year s event is Iconic Power Plants and the V-8 Ford will be a featured vehicle of the Muster. Participating Early Ford V-8 Club members will be honorary guests of the Village. To that end, any and all entry fees, etc, etc are being waived for us and each entry will be afforded four (4) weekend passes to the entire Henry Ford/Greenfield Village facility. Furthermore, eligible entrants (defined as Rouge, Concourse and Touring Division vehicles) will be spared the formal registration process and will register and be assured a spot in the show by utilizing a special section of our GN Meet Registration Form. Names, hometown, and a description of each vehicle entered will be supplied by us to the Village to facilitate credentials and also serve as the basis for the narrated portion of the "Pass in Review" of our vehicles that will be conducted each day.
