NATIONAL Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yjana The Unin Cabinet has apprved plan t set up 20 All India Institute f Medical Sciences (AIIMS) acrss the cuntry and upgrade 73 medical clleges. The decisins are part f the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yjana (PMSSY), which has been extended by tw years till The cnstructin f new AIIMS will be fully funded by Central gvernment. Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yjana PMSSY was annunced in 2003 and it will be funded frm different centrally spnsred schemes relating t creating infrastructure n health.

2 Its bjectives are crrecting reginal imbalances in availability f affrdable and reliable tertiary healthcare services and augment facilities fr quality medical educatin in the cuntry. The exhibitin marks an unprecedented cllabratin between the British Museum-Lndn, Natinal Museum-New Delhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS)-Mumbai and is actively supprted by the Culture Ministry.
