Since then, the Village has grown organically to become the most beloved urban district in the City of Houston. In the 40 s - 60 s, the neighborhood developed slowly. The Olson s first shopping center in the Village was built in These innovative original buildings still stand today. During the planning process, John Olson studied some of America s finest retail properties, including Country Club Plaza which served as a model for the Village s first leases.
