We hope you have a wondeful time. Meeting Time: 7:30 AM at EathTek Expeditions Ameican ive Camp (see map) Please don t be late. Allow plenty of diving time. We depat by van at 8:00 AM fo the 1 hou dive to the Middle Fok put-in. A deep foested canyon, wildeness camping, cystal clea wate and some of the wildest unnable apids in Califonia. All of this and moe can be found on the Middle Fok Ameican. While some of the ive is a elaxing but spiited Class II float, thee ae numeous Class III and IV apids fo whitewate excitement and thills, including the famous Tunnel Chute, a naow Class IV cataact ceated by 19th centuy gold mines. Immediately following the 'Chute' is the 'Tunnel, a 90' long caven blasted though a ocky idge. Afte the Chute, apid excitement continues fo seveal miles and then mellows until we each uck-a-chucky Falls, a necessay potage. Ou tip down the beautiful Middle Fok comes to a damatic conclusion with anothe seies of thundeing Class III-IV dops. We etun by van to ou South Fok Camp, concluding the tip at about PM. CAMPING: As an option, you may camp the night befoe you tip at the EathTek Campgound. The cost is $10 pe peson. Fo esevations call EathTek Expeditions at (0) WEATHE: Duing the summe months you can expect wam, sunny days with tempeatues fom the s to the low100 s. Summe evenings cool to the low 60 s (expect night time tempeatues in the 40 s o 0 s duing the Sping o Fall. While ain is not expected it is always a possibility anytime duing the yea. Duing the Sping and Fall we can nomally expect highe wate flows and coole ai tempeatues so pack accodingly. Additional Infomation CAMEAS: Cameas ae OK to bing but we do not ecommend taking them on the afts unless they ae a watepoof type. Inexpensive one-time use watepoof cameas ae best and we have these available at ou camp stoe. You will have the oppotunity to puchase a photogaph, taken by a pofessional photogaphe, of you unning the biggest apids. 2 EATHTEK EXPEDITIONS Diving Diections to the Ameican ive All EathTek Expeditions tips on the South Fok, Middle Fok and Noth Fok of the Ameican ive meet at ou camp in Lotus. Below ae diections to ou camp. Fom Southen Califonia (appoximately 7 hous diving time): Take I- noth to Sacamento and follow the diections below fom Sacamento. Fom the San Fancisco Bay Aea (appox. 2-3 hous diving time): Take I- east to Sacamento and the diections below fom Sacamento. Fom edding and the Sacamento Aipot: Take I- south to Hwy 0 east (feeway sign on I- diects you to Fesno/Placeville) and follow the diections below fom Sacamento. Fom Sacamento (1 hou diving time): Take Hwy 0 east towads Placeville/Lake Tahoe. Dive 34 miles and exit at Pondeosa oad (exit 37). At the feeway off amp stop light, tun LEFT and coss ove the feeway to the second stop light. Tun IGHT on Noth Shingle oad. Continue about 11. miles until the oad dead ends at Hwy. Tun LEFT on Hwy and immediately coss ove the South Fok Ameican. Past the bidge tun left at the fist left tun lane (second dive on left) into and though ive Pak Village to ou gavel paking lot (see below). Stay on Hwy fo about 9 miles though the histoic gold discovey community of Coloma and ove the South Fok Ameican Bidge. Just past the bidge tun left at the fist left tun lane (second dive on left) into and thu ive Pak Village to ou gavel paking lot (see below). Fom eno o Noth Lake Tahoe (2 hous diving time): Take I- west ove Donne Summit to Aubun and take Hwy south towads Placeville. You will coss the Noth Fok Ameican and then climb to the community of Cool. Continue on Hwy about 10 miles to ive Pak Village, which will be on you ight.
