4 Science Technology Engineering Math STEM is where the careers will be for our Scouting Youth in the coming decades. STEM has been a part of Scouting for over 100 years. From archery to welding, youth get to enjoy dozens of STEM-related activities, just in the course of enjoying their Scouting experience. The Nova Awards program is another way for Scouts to have fun with STEM and learn a lot.

8 What is the Nova Awards Program? A key component of BSA s STEM initiative. The Nova Awards are designed to enhance interest in the STEM fields while making it fun for youth to learn. Nova Awards integrate many existing advancements (58 STEM merit badges). These awards can earned by Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers.
