You may ask why we do so well. We have a very loyal clientele who book holidays on a regular basis with many repeat bookings. They expect good service and quality holidays, which being a small company, we are able to offer. Our brochure is not the same thing year after year. The programme is put together with each holiday being planned down to the smallest detail. We offer new destinations plus of course the favourite resorts, but with new itineraries. 5 Looe, Cornwall The Hannafore Point Hotel Looe Monday 30th April Friday 4th May TOUR 55 NEW ITINERARY FOR 2012 Looe is a Cornish maritime port of character. The river estuary divides the town where the Victorian seven arched bridge leads to the historic fishing port with narrow streets, quaint cottages and interesting shops. Manchester Ship Canal and Concorde The Pinewood Hotel Handforth Tuesday 8th Friday 11th May TOUR 60 NEW TOUR FOR 2012 The Hannafore Point has a dramatic location in West Looe overlooking the Looe estuary with unrivalled coastal views. The boats can be seen as they enter and leave port on the tide. All en-suite rooms have television and hot drink facilities. Although the hotel has a lift, it does not service all rooms. Meals using local produce are served in the attractive restaurant. Leisure centre with indoor swimming pool. There are steps to the hotel entrance and reception. A new and exciting addition to our tour programme with a full itinerary each day. We will travel out through the Derbyshire Peak District visiting Ashbourne and Buxton, to arrive at our hotel with time to relax before dinner. Well situated in Handforth, Wilmslow the en-suite rooms offer television and hospitality tray. On Wednesday we have a guided tour of Concorde, which is located at the Runway Visitor Park of Manchester Airport. We view the cabin and flight deck of this wonderful aircraft. We will then rejoin the coach for a ride to Salford Quays, where there is a wealth of attractions including the Lowry galleries, outlet shopping and the Imperial War Museum. On Thursday we take a Manchester Ship Canal Cruise through a landscape that has changed little in the 100 years since the canal opened. The six hour journey wends its way to the Wirral terminal through locks and under bridges, while listening to a lively commentary relating the story of how this waterway shaped the history of the North West. On Friday we must return home, but on the way we will enjoy a visit to the city of Chester situated on the River Dee. The imposing cathedral and the tiered shops known as the Rows are all worth a look. During our stay we will take a ride to the charming market town of Tavistock, then on to Dartmoor for a cream tea at Princetown. We will also visit the restored Lost Gardens of Heligan and the pretty resort of Mevagissy. We have chosen the handsome town of Pitlochry as our base. This popular centre with lovely riverside walks, Festival Theatre and hydro-electric dam with salmon ladder, has plenty to offer the tourist. The hotel stands in extensive grounds overlooking the River Tummel. It is an easy walk to the town centre. From the lounge you will enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Although the hotel does not have a lift, there are some ground floor rooms available. We enjoy a stop at Moffat in the borders on our journey. We are travelling to Sussex for a traditional seaside holiday. Eastbourne certainly has all the ingredients with so much to see and do. The pier, bandstand and several theatres offer a multitude of entertainment possibilities. The long level three tier promenade bordered by award winning beaches and the beautiful carpet flower gardens are perfect for a stroll. The friendly Hadleigh has always been a popular seaside hotel in our brochure. Well situated for both the seafront and town centre. All en-suite rooms have television and hot drink facilities. Lift to most rooms. Plentiful traditional varied menus with efficient service in the restaurant. Entertainment is offered most evenings in the spacious lounge, which has a bar and small dance floor. A visit to the fine setting of Blair Castle, ancient seat of the Dukes of Athol. We take a ride to Aviemore to board the Strathspey steam railway for a ride through Monarch of the Glen country. For our third tour we visit the city of Perth located on the banks of the sparkling river Tay and enjoy a drive to Queens View overlooking Loch Tummel. A visit to Brighton where we will see the exotic Royal Pavilion and gardens, now restored to their former glory. A ride through the Kent countryside, where we make a stop at the attractive town of Tenterden. 7 Bantry Bay - Southern Ireland The Maritime Hotel and overnights Sunday 17th Saturday 23rd June TOUR 75 BEAUTIFUL SCENERY County Cork offers a collection of intricate peninsulas and lush countryside bathed by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. At its heart lies the harbour town of Bantry. Monday - Thursday: After breakfast we depart for our journey via Waterford to Bantry, where we settle in at the Maritime Hotel located on the quay overlooking Bantry Bay in beautiful West Cork. This modern hotel has a leisure centre with swimming pool. During our stay we will travel along the shore of Bantry Bay to Glengarriff for a trip with Harbour Queen ferries to Garinish Island, an Italianate garden that flourishes in the Gulf Stream, viewing a seal colony on the way. We will discover Ireland s most southerly point, Mizen Head. From the Visitors Centre the cliff top path leads to the Signal Station with views to the Fastnet Rock. We travel around the Beara Peninsula for a visit to Castletownbere. Friday: We travel via Blarney to Dublin where we spend our last night of Irish hospitality at the Stillorgan Park Hotel. Saturday: After breakfast we load the coach for our journey home. The high speed ferry will take us from Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey. After a scenic run through North Wales we head for home. The site was once the home of Jeremiah Colman of the famous mustard family. Everything about Corton has a seaside feel, from the chalet-style accommodation to the pebbled beach garden with its sea views. There is an attractive coffee shop in the conservatory and indoor swimming pool. The en-suite chalets are ground or first floor and provide comfortable accommodation with all the amenities you would expect. The Clyfee cabaret diner offers a great line up of evening entertainment. You have a reserved table in the cabaret diner where buffet breakfasts and three-course dinners with carvery are served. A visit to Killerton House, former home of the Aclands, one of Devon s oldest families. On the first floor is a stunning historic costume exhibition which changes each year. 9 The Irresistible Isle of Man The Empress Hotel Douglas Sunday 15th Thursday 19th July TOUR 85 SCENIC ISLAND EXCURSIONS This popular small island is a beautiful gem set in the Irish Sea. Just 25 miles long by 15 miles wide it is easy to explore. A wealth of attractions include the world s largest waterwheel, horse drawn trams and a mountain railway. The island even has its own parliament. We board the ferry at Heysham and sail direct to Douglas harbour. Our hotel is only a short drive away. The Empress is an elegant hotel enjoying a central location on the promenade with views across Douglas Bay. All en-suite rooms have television and hot drink facilities. Lift to most rooms, but there are some steps to the entrance. Leisure facilities include a small indoor pool and sauna. During our stay we will travel to Laxey, home of the famous waterwheel Lady Isabella. There will be up to 100 magnificent ships and four days of festival events to enjoy. It offers the public the opportunity to view a large number of tall ships in one venue. Dublin certainly is a fair city, vibrant and exciting with a host of attractions, cobbled alleys and Georgian squares, museums and art galleries plus cafés and pubs with traditional entertainment. The Tattoo is one of Scotland s most celebrated events and this will be our fifteenth year of visiting this spectacular show. By popular request we now stay for an extra night in Scotland. Friday: We head north to travel over the border and settle at our hotel in time to relax before evening dinner. We are once again based at the Tontine Hotel situated in the centre of the attractive border town of Peebles on the River Tweed. All comfortable en-suite bedrooms have television and hot drink facilities. The hotel does not have a lift. Saturday: A leisurely breakfast and time to look around Peebles, before we travel to Edinburgh with free time to explore the city and enjoy a meal. The city will be buzzing with the various festivals taking place. We then rejoin the coach for the short journey to the drop off point for the castle, from where the final approach is on foot. The highlight of our visit will be when we climb Castle Hill to take our seats on the Castle Esplanade. This year the Tattoo pays tribute to the Queen s Diamond Jubilee. With music, colour and spectacles from home and abroad, set against the incomparable backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, featuring the massed pipes & drums, military bands, display teams and dancers from the four corners of the earth. The night finishes with the lone piper, high on the castle ramparts playing his haunting lament. Sunday: After breakfast we drive to Floors Castle Scotland s largest inhabited castle and family home of the Duke of Roxburghe. Exploring the spectacular state rooms and beautiful gardens and grounds will make a lovely day out. The castle kitchen produces delicious goodies for the tearoom and shop. Returning to the hotel for evening dinner. Monday: After breakfast we depart for a scenic drive home. On Saturday & Sunday we have time at leisure to enjoy this vibrant city. The light railway tram stops outside the hotel to whisk you to the quays or catch the city tour bus for a guided commentary. The docklands will be the place to be to see the ships and events. On Monday we will catch the parade of sail, before we depart for home, but at present, timings are still to be confirmed. It is too large for the narrow island roads. This is a tour for the more independent traveller. The island of Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands lying just a few miles off the French coast but only an hours flying time from Britain. The resort has a truly continental atmosphere, but there are no language or currency problems. There are beautiful beaches and picturesque bays all around the coast. We include a full day tour of the island on the first day of your holiday, to give you ideas of places to visit during the rest of your stay. The bustling capital of St Helier, where our hotel is situated is a paradise for shopping with a large variety of retail outlets. A seafront location on the Havre des Pas, about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The local bus stops outside the hotel to take you to the town centre or the bus station for onward travel all around the island. The Standard Policy Terms, Conditions and Exclusions shall apply. Applying to all areas It is a condition that at the time of taking out this policy and between that time and your departure you must comply with each of the following: 1) You are not aware of any reason why the trip should be cancelled or cut short 2) You are not travelling: a) against the advice of a medical practitioner b) for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment, or c) if you have been given a terminal prognosis 3) You are not receiving or awaiting treatment for an illness or injury as a hospital day case or in-patient, as any claim arising from this illness or injury will not be covered. 4) If you are on medication at the time of your travel your medical condition must be stable and well controlled. In addition if you are travelling outside England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the following additional conditions will apply: You must notify the Issuer of this policy immediately of any of the conditions listed below arising between the date the policy is issued and the time of departure of the trip. We must be informed of any fact which is likely to influence us in the acceptance, assessment or continuance of this insurance. Failure to do so may invalidate this insurance, leaving you with no right to make a claim. 1) If you have received medical treatment as a hospital day case, in-patient or out-patient during the six months prior to the booking of the trip, you must obtain from a medical practitioner at your cost confrmation that you will be fit enough to take the trip. 2) if you are undergoing medical treatment as a hospital out-patient at the date the final balance of the trip is due to be paid, you obtaina certificate of fitness confirming your ability to travel must be obtained by you at your cost. The Policy contains the following General Exclusions: YOU ARE NOT COVERED for anything caused directly or indirectly by you suffering from Stress, anxiety or depression unless it has been investigated and diagnosed as such by a Consultant specialising in the relevant field, who must confirm in writing at your cost that you are fit enough to take this trip. FINANCIAL SECURITY In accordance with the The Package Travel. Package Tours Regulations 1992 all passengers booking with TERRY BUSHELL TRAVEL are fully protected for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of all monies paid to us including repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of TERRY BUSHELL TRAVEL. A certificate detailing this cover will be given to each and every passenger as evidence of cover. Please ensure that you have been given the appropriate certificate(s) at the time of booking. 15 Fair Trading Charter Please read this carefully before booking YOUR HOLIDAY CONTRACT WITH TERRY BUSHELL TRAVEL You pay a deposit and make a contract with us When making a booking you pay a deposit of per person. The contract is made at the date the deposit is entered on to our reservation system and we issue a confirmation of booking. You pay the balance The balance shown on your confirmation is due six weeks prior to the tour departure. Should the balance not be paid at the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation and apply cancellation charges as shown below. Balance reminders are not sent. If you cancel your holiday Should you or any other member of your party be forced to cancel your holiday you must notify us in writing. A cancellation charge calculated on the scale set out below becomes payable. More than 42 days Loss of deposit Days 30% Days 45% 7-13 Days 60% 0-6 Days 100% Note: If the reason for the cancellation is covered under the terms of the insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim most of these charges. If you change your booking If after our confirmation has been issued you wish to change to another of our current holidays, we will do our utmost to make the change. The request must be in writing and a administration fee paid per person. Any alteration made after the original balance is due will be regarded as a cancellation and be subject to the cancellation charges set out above. If we cancel your holiday We reserve the right to cancel your holiday if there are insufficient bookings to justify the departure, in which case we will inform you at least six weeks prior to departure. In the unlikely event of this happening you will have the option of transferring to another tour or accepting a full refund. If you have a complaint If you are unfortunate enough to have a complaint during your holiday please inform the person responsible immediately (i.e. Hotel Manager) and also advise our driver/courier who will do their utmost to resolve the problem immediately. If the matter cannot be put right on the spot, you must notify us in writing within 28 days of the completion of your holiday. Conditions of Carriage When you travel on a train or ship the conditions of carriage apply and are subject to National and International conditions which may limit or exclude liability. Your contract made under the terms of this agreement is subject to English law and jurisdiction. Some coach journeys may be operated by vehicles which have a specification different to that detailed in this brochure. Other terms We reserve the unconditional right to refuse a booking or terminate a passenger s holiday in the event of unreasonable conduct. We regret that no pets or other animals may be taken on our coaches. You are responsible for ensuring that you are at the correct departure point at the correct time and we cannot be liable for any loss or expense suffered by passengers because of their late arrival at any departure point. Excursions are included in the price of most holidays and refunds cannot be made for passengers not wishing to go on these excursions. Admission fees to buildings, grounds etc are not included in the price of the holiday unless otherwise stated in the brochure. For all continental holidays you will require a full British passport. We cannot accept responsibility if passengers are not in possession of the correct travel documents. Exchange rate 1 = 1.10 Euros If we change your holiday. The arrangements for holidays in this brochure are made many months in advance and changes are sometimes unavoidable. Most of these changes are very minor, but where they are significant we will notify you as soon as possible. A significant change is one that involves changing your departure date, resort area, quality of main hotel or eliminating a destination from the itinerary. In the event of a significant change you may decide to a) Continue with the holiday as amended b) Accept an alternative which we may offer c) Cancel your booking and receive a full refund. action including additional bonding or licensing requirements and VAT. In all cases we reserve the right to pass these amounts on in full. U.K. Holiday prices include all coach travel, hotel accommodation and meals as specified in the holiday description and VAT at the current rate where applicable. On European holidays the price is subject to surcharges on governmental action, VAT and currency. We will absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of the holiday price which excludes insurance premiums. If the cost of the tour increases by more than 10% you are entitled to cancel and receive a full refund (except for the insurance premium). Should you decide to cancel because of this, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days of the date of your amended invoice. Surcharges will not be imposed within 30 days of the departure. Morning Coffee, afternoon tea and other refreshments are not included. Gratuities to the hotel staff and driver/courier are discretionary. Final details of departure times and points will be sent to you about one week prior to the departure date when they have been finalised. Your holiday information Seat Allocation Requests for particular seats can be made when booking, but since allocations are made on a first come first served basis, early booking is advisable. Reserved seats are held throughout your holiday. For operational reasons, a coach of different configuration may be used and we reserve the right to alter a seating plan, although this will be avoided as far as possible. Smoking There is a total smoking ban on the coach, but frequent comfort stops are made. Special care for the disabled The holidays in this brochure have been carefully planned to include as much of interest as possible. Inevitably some of the holidays include lengthy periods of travel and some walking on sightseeing excursions. Many of the hotels will have steps to contend with and may not have lifts. We will do our best to look after disabled passengers but please advise us when booking of any special requests. Wheelchairs can be carried, but due to restricted space, advance notice must be given to our office. We are unable to accommodate motorised wheelchairs due to Health & Safety regulations. Ground Floor Accommodation There are usually a limited number of ground or low floor rooms available and requests for this accommodation must be made in the special requirements section of the booking form. Single Rooms Single Rooms are always in short supply (and may be subject to supplementary charge). We advise early booking. Special Diets If you require a special diet you must inform us at the time of booking. This will be notified to the hotel and any extra costs incurred must be paid to the hotel before departure. We cannot guarantee hotelier s compliance with dietary requests. Entertainment Entertainment offered by hotels is indicated in the hotel description. The nature and frequency of the entertainment presented is at the discretion of the hotel and therefore not guaranteed and could be withdrawn if there is a lack of demand or insufficient numbers in the hotel. Luggage In view of the restricted space available, we ask you to keep luggage down to one medium sized suitcase per person, but a small holdall can be taken on board the coach. We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to luggage unless it is established that it is caused by our negligence. Child reductions Child reductions will apply to children under the age of 12 at the date of travel, sharing a room with two adults paying full fare.
