1 4* St Brelade s Bay Hotel, Jersey Midweek Bridge Break 9 th 12 th April 2019 Andrew Robson Bridge Holidays are excited to be returning to St Brelade s Bay Hotel, Jersey, after previous successful holidays. Jack and Annabel Stocken will be organising all aspects of the break. St Brelade's Bay is a luxurious and friendly 4* hotel which has a truly special location, set in 5 acres of stunning gardens and overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches in the Channel Islands. The entire hotel was lovingly refurbished in 2011 to the highest standard and in 2012 opened a state of the art Health Club, with indoor swimming pool, relaxing spa and steam room. The hotel has a tennis court and the renowned Le Moye golf course nearby. Jersey is the most southerly point in the British Isles and has a unique climate as it is only fourteen miles from France and warmed by the Gulf stream. As it is a midweek break we are able to stay for an extra night, so more time to hone up your skills at the Bridge table! The Bridge standard is friendly Intermediate, as always, and no partner needed (NB - these holidays are not suitable for those used to a serious 24 board Duplicate). Jack will teach Andrew s lessons and excellent set hands. Please book early as numbers are limited. Long standing Head Chef, Franz Hacker, always makes use of the plentiful local supply of fresh seafood and vegetables Bar/Lounge: The Cocktail Bar is a cosy and informal room with a terrace overlooking the Bay, in which to chat, read or have a light lunch from the Lite Bites menu, afternoon tea or indeed cocktails. Spa: With the hustle and bustle of daily life it is important to find time to relax and unwind. The Spa is situated within the hotel and offers a range of treatments such as beauty, facials, body treatments and massages to help rejuvenate mind, body and soul. There is also a hair salon and nail bar. It is advisable to pre-book treatments directly, on , to avoid disappointment. Leisure: Facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, outdoor pool, spa pool, steam room, gymnasium and an outdoor all-weather tennis court. Rooms: All rooms are non-smoking and are tastefully appointed and capture the essence of the 19 th Century hotel. Rooms either overlook the 5 acres of delightful gardens or offer superb sea views. Every room has satellite television, broadband internet access, direct dial telephones, hair dryer and complimentary fresh fruit bowl on the first night. 24 hour room service is offered. Garden View Room: Well-appointed, comfortable en-suite rooms with either twin or double beds. These rooms overlook the hotels delightful gardens and do not have a sea view. 3 Superior Room: These rooms afford all the comforts of the Garden rooms with Sea Views across St Brelade s Bay. These rooms are slightly larger than the Sea View rooms and also have an in-room safe, tea/coffee making facilities, walk-in shower with separate bath, bathrobes and Hildon Water. Please note that there are only 3 x Superior rooms in the hotel and they all have balconies. Bridge Room: ARBH has exclusive use of the newly refurbished Rosiere Suite. The room has plenty of natural light and a private terrace overlooking the Bay. It has an area for refreshments, private bar area and toilet facilities. Jersey has been an island for approximately 8,000 years and at its extremes it measures just 10 miles east to west and six miles north to south. Jersey possesses a fascinating and complex history stretching back over a thousand years. Its very landscape Norman style farmhouses, narrow winding lanes, small fields and French street names reflects its entwinement with the fates of two great nations: Britain and France. Rooms and facilities as described on pages two and three. Welcome drink on Tuesday night. Wine with dinner (1/3 of a bottle pp), coffee during morning Bridge sessions. Bookings: 150 per person non-refundable deposit is required on booking, and the full balance for the holiday is payable eight weeks beforehand. All bookings will be treated on a first come first served basis. Cancellation: Once the balance has been paid, it is non-refundable but you can claim on your insurance. 5 Travel: By air: You will need to book your own flights. If you choose to fly with BA from Gatwick then we recommend the following approx. flight times: outbound on the Tuesday and inbound on Friday. The hotel is only a 10 minute drive from the airport where taxis are readily available. By sea: If you wish to bring your car to the Jersey, fast ferry services leave from the south coast of England. Sail from Poole or Weymouth with Condor Ferries and you can be in Jersey in less than 4 hours Passport/Visa: British citizens and citizens of the Irish Republic do not require passports or visas to visit Jersey. Other EU citizens require only their ID cards for entry. Citizens from non-eu countries will need a passport and should check before travelling whether a visa is required. Extra nights: You are welcome to stay for extra nights at the hotel. Please contact the hotel directly to book in any extra nights which are to be settled directly with the hotel.
