In the 2011 UK census, the community, which includes Penrhyn Bay and Penrhynside, had a population of 20,701. The town's name is derived from its patron saint, Saint Tudno. Llandudno, "Queen of the Welsh Resorts", a title first applied as early as 1864, is now the largest seaside resort in Wales. Historically a part of Caernarfonshire, Llandudno was formerly in the district of Aberconwy within Gwynedd.

14 Thursday 23 August For the more adventurous, there will be a hike to the summit of Mount Snowdon. Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is the highest mountain in Wales, at an elevation of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level, and the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands. The hike will take approximately six hours and will include strenuous uphill walking, please bring suitable footwear and waterproof clothing.
