There are loads of exciting things to do for all the family and some of them are totally free. We have added contact details of Birmingham Libraries which often run activities during school holidays. The activities are listed in date order. Fun for All This edition contains a wide range of activities including some for disabled children and young people up to the age of 19 in some cases. When we have been told that an activity or event is inclusive we have added the following text - If your child or young person has a disability, please call the organisation for further information. Whilst we have been assured these activities are inclusive we would always recommend that you call ahead to discuss your child s needs to ensure they are able to meet them. 6 Half Moon: Up in the attic 2330 Overcome your fear of the dark on a magical journey of discovery and adventure. Join three children on an unforgettable bedtime adventure: a journey through the attic at the top of an old house. As they discover the delights and secrets hidden inside they're taken on a rollercoaster ride of story, song and surprise. As the children work together to unravel a mystery they meet a wolf, a crab, a whale and a goose - and when they finally open the dusty suitcase in the far corner of the attic they realise that there really is no need to be frightened of the dark ever again. Up in the attic is a story about co-operation, friendship and overcoming fears. A magical melodious and interactive tale created through enchanting music and puppetry. 8 Pop up Flashback 2318 Enter an imaginative world of memories through poetry and incredible pop-up books in this funny and heart-warming adventure of complicated families and growing up. Sebastian's memories aren't like everyone else's. His are wonderful poetic memories from the pages of his colourful pop-up books and the treasure trove of his imagination. He remembers troll kings and mermaid queens, deep sea diving super heroes and city smashing dinosaurs. But there's only one memory that takes particular pride of place. It is of the very special gift that his dad bought him. 11 Easter Treasure Hunt 2321 A special Easter treasure hunt through Birmingham on the Big Brum open topped Bus. Birmingham Bus Tours Easter Bus Tour is the very best way to discover the global city with a local heart - Birmingham uncovered - the commercial heart, the unique Jewellery Quarter, the Golden Mile with the Golden Boys! Leafy Edgbaston picking up the Tolkien trail and the East Side Extravaganza. To celebrate Easter we will be highlightingsome of the magnificent churches we see on route. St Paul's Church in the Jewellery Quarter, Edgbaston Old Church and St Georges Church in Edgbaston, The Oratory, St Albans in Highgate, St Martins Parish Church, St Philip's and St Chad's Cathederals. Prize for the winner of the treasure hunt quiz. The tour lasts approximately one and a half hours finishing back at Victoria Square. You can read extracts of books online and then get involved with the activities on the site. Drop into your local library for a user name and password. KIDS Childminding Inclusion Project This project offers short breaks for disabled children aged 0-13 years with a registered childminder for up to 130 hours. The project aims to access a registerd childminder within the familiy's locality who can meet the requirements and needs of the young person and family. The days and times are agreed with the families, the childminder and the project, along with any other specific requirements for the placement to happen.
