3 The Story so far High level Board of eleven in place with confirmation of one more expected Steering Committee taking shape LEP s participating (6) Cornwall & Isles of Scilly has involved us in the writing & now delivery of their strategy Wiltshire has asked to view the Cornwall strategy and we are due to meet with them on 18 th December Dorset meeting arranged for 3 rd December to discuss our involvement Heart of the South West CEO present here today and relationship is building (mainly around Hinkley Point) West of England LEP asked me to present to their construction team in July 2014 Gloucestershire LEP only recently contacted National Members (6) Igloo Regeneration, Environment Agency, Burgess Salmon, Magnox & Structural Timber Association all engaged Nationwide about to engage

Swindon & Wiltshire Re-established in April with a nucleus of keen supporters Other New Hinkley Point (Somerset) Club about to be launched in early 2015 National Representative Jeremy Dunn, Ward Williams of Cornwall Club recently volunteered

7 Forums Update CCGSW Excellent feedback from two meetings to date next one planned for 24 th February 2015 Procurement Presentation from Martyn Jones to follow G4CSW Hugely successful launch in Bristol in July and now looking to extend around the region BIM4Housing Launched in January we are in the middle of a series of six conferences being held around the UK New Forums Marcoms Scoping meeting planned for 11 th December Lean/Logistics First meeting planned for January 2015

10 Web Site/Newsletter Update Web Site very well received.but Not all have provided necessary information/photo Very few members maximising its potential i.e. CV s Newsletter First one issued late July Intention to issue every four six weeks depending on news/information requirements More stories welcome (poor response so far from most people)

11 CESW Academy/Consultants Update CESW Academy First short course originally planned for October/November 2014 now delayed until early 2015 Good initial interest Turning interest into bookings has been difficult Content needed to be more tailored Consultants Team Excellent team of eight built up All prepared to offer commission 20% if we present an opportunity to them 10% if they get business direct from our web site Good potential income stream for CESW One project already carried out with four more in the pipeline

16 Dr Peter Hansford FREng Chief Construction Advisor to the UK Government Peter graduated with a BSc in Civil Engineering from The University of Nottingham in 1975 and an MBA from Cranfield University in He was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa by The University of Nottingham in July Peter has over 35 years experience in the development and delivery of major infrastructure projects, for government, public and private clients, consultants and contractors in the UK and overseas. He has worked on highways, railways and energy projects in the UK, on new town infrastructure in Hong Kong and has advised on infrastructure developments and capital investment programmes for numerous clients. Peter is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Association for Project Management. He served as the 146 th President of the Institution of Civil Engineers from November 2010 to November He is a Visiting Professor in the Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management at University College London and Chairman of the charity, Engineers Without Borders UK.

17 Peter Vale Management Consultant - Arup Peter currently works for Arup as an Information Management consultant within their London Programme Project Management Group and is currently seconded to the UK Government BIM Task Group where he is working with a number of Government Departments including the Highways Agency and the Home and Communities Agency to support their adoption of BIM. At Arup he has delivered the Information Manager role on a number of large infrastructure projects including the Olympics, Crossrail and HS2 and has spent the last three years seconded into the Crossrail Client Technical Directorate delivering Information Management Best Practice across the business. Working with the Head of Technical Information at Crossrail, Peter supported change and delivered improvements across a number of IM activities including; Information & Policy Strategy, Business Adoption & Support, Delivery & Handover Requirements, System and Document Security, Audits and Compliance reviews. He co-authored the Crossrail BIM Principles Document defining their BIM Strategy and worked with Bentley Systems to setup, coordinate and deliver the 'Crossrail - Bentley Information Academy.

22 CIC BIM Protocol Provides a standard form framework for contractually incorporating BIM obligations Becomes the single source of all obligations relating to the modelling process e.g. Use to which models may be put Ownership of models IP Liability arising from models Rules for content Is broadly supplier friendly: IP rights remain vested in the Project Team Member (6.2) Employer receives a licence to use material for Permitted Purpose (revocable in event of non-payment) (6.3) Supplier s liability for models is limited to use of model for Permitted Purpose (7.2)
