Staff Summary: The CTA Board will address a request from the Nevada Commission for the Reconstruction of the V&T Railway to allocate $90, from the CTA managed V&T Capital Projects fund, for depot and grounds improvements, and make the determination whether they approve said request and subsequent payment be made. The $90, would be funded from the V&T Capital Projects Fund current carryover balance of $516, (FY18 end carryover $581, less $65,000 FY19 operations payment). 3 V&T Railway runs the long haul to Virginia City and through the Carson River Canyon. The long haul retraces the historic route of the V&T Railroad. Regular season runs from Mother s Day until end of October. Polar Express runs from mid November to Christmas Eve. Run each weekend, with a max capacity of 210 per train. Regular season serves nearly 11,000 people while Polar Express serves between 30,000 40,000 people. Platform and offloading area. Unsafe.
