An experienced tree trimmer told the owner that the tree is the largest Buckeye in Greene County, Ohio. The house was built in 1870 and is in the Bullskin Trace Neighborhood.

Age: less than 133 years History: The trees were planted at the same time as the house was built in 1881 by John Allen, who was a banker and Ohio Legislative representative. The tree must have been in existence at the time this structure was built in 1959. The property is located in the Waterstreet Historic District which is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Height: 60 feet (topped). Age: approx years History: The tree survived major tornados and the construction of an adjacent high-rise building for senior housing. The tree must have been in existence at the time this structure was built in The property is located in the Waterstreet Historic District which is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Location: rear of 68 East Church Street and by 206 Corwin Avenue, Xenia Nominated by Summer Watts, Sr. Joint Owners: James and Gladys Bartlett, 1680 Wesleyan Road, Dayton, OH Christ Episcopal Church, 68 East Church Street, Xenia, OH Diameter (DBH): 36 inches. Height: 90 feet. Age: approx 80 years (after 1926). History: The tree has attractive blooms in the spring and is a host for the caterpillars of the beautiful Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio glaucus) which can be seen flying in summer. It survived the 1974 tornado and is located on land originally owned by Silas Roberts who settled in Xenia in His grandson Samuel Ewing died on 6 Oct 1917 in the nearby Roberts Villa (destroyed in the tornado and replaced by the Masonic Lodge) after which F.W. History: The tree was most likely planted by Hansford Jackson who worked as an horticultural supervisor at the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphanage from 1942 to 1968 according to his granddaughter, Roberta Brown, who lives at the Legacy Village. Diameter (DBH): 33 inches. Height: 70 feet. Age: approx years History: The Shingle Oak was on the site when the house was built in 1954 and was a sizable tree at that time. Age: approx 60 years History: Cliff Olt, Xenia businessman, dug up the Pin Oak as a sapling in his native Indiana and gave it to the Agnors who planted it in their garden. Diameter (DBH): 24 inches. Height: 65 feet. Age: approx years History: The sugar maple was on the site when the house was built in 1954 and was a sizable tree at that time. Age: approx 140-160 years. History: The tree survived the 1974 tornado and graces Franklin Park being visible from Dayton Avenue.

This is a beautiful ash tree which may be worth saving from the Emerald Ash Borer with appropriate treatment. Location: behind Nick s Restaurant, 1443 N.

Height: 75 feet. Age: approx years. History: The tree survived the 1974 tornado and graces Franklin Park being visible from Dayton Avenue. Franklin Park was carved out of the Layne Addition Subdivision and deeded to Xenia to be used as a park for that neighborhood.
