The county seat is the city of Conway, while the largest city is Myrtle Beach. Horry County was created in 1801 from the Georgetown District and was named in honor of Peter Horry, a Revolutionary War hero. Horry County is also the central county in the Myrtle Beach-Conway-North -NC Metropolitan Statistical Area. There is plenty to see and do here in the Horry County and Myrtle Beach Area.
