6 How to arrive to Talent House once you are in San Sebastián?: Arriving by car Coming along the A-8, AP-1 and N-1 take the exit for Ondarreta (Avda. de Tolosa) and immediately get in the right lane heading towards Gros-Amara. At the roundabout take the first exit on the right along Paseo de Lugaritz. Continue along this road and at the 2nd roundabout head for Aldapeta along Paseo de Lazcano. When you come to a junction turn left along Paseo de Aiete and take the first street on the right which is Duque de Baena. Talent House is about 150 meters along this street. Arriving at the bus station From the plaza where the bus drops you off (Plaza Pío XII) take bus number 27 (Altza-Intxaurrondo-Antiguo- Gros ) as far as the stop at Pío Baroja 55. From here continue on foot along Paseo de Pio Baroja heading north-west and turn right into Paseo de Alete, go up the steps and turn left towards the street Calle Izaburu, continue for about 300 m. until you come to Talent House. The bus is every 30 minutes. From opposite the bus station (Calle Sancho el Sabio no. 28) take the number 23 bus (Errondo) as far as the bus stop La Cumbre. When you get off the bus, go back a few meters and cross the road when you come to the first street on the right (Duque de Baena). Talent House building is about 150 meters away. The bus is every 30 minutes. Direct bus routes From the city centre: 19 - Aiete - Starting at the street Calle Urbieta 6 (city centre) and getting off at the third bus stop La Cumbre. The bus is every 15 minutes. Duration: 13 minutes (8 minutes on the bus and 5 minutes walking) Intxaurrondo-Ospitaleak-Altza - Starting at the street San Bartolomé 12 and getting off at the second bus stop La Cumbre. The bus is every 30 minutes. Duration: 10 minutes (5 minutes on the bus and 5 minutes walking). G-1 - Hernani-Aiete-San Sebastian - Starting at the street San Bartolomé 12 and getting off at the second bus stop, La Cumbre. The bus is every 30 minutes. 8 DonostiaINN Week of Innovation from the 21st to the 31st October Fomento de San Sebastian (FSS), the local economic development agency, has developed a support strategy to foster research and innovation as key elements in the transformation of the socio-economic model of the city. In the framework of this strategy FSS organises the so-called event: DonostiaINN Week of Innovation from the 21 st to the 31 st October 2014 aiming at branding San Sebastian as an Innovation city, enhance the cooperation among innovation agents in the city and disseminate the good practices and successful innovation initiatives carried out in San Sebastian. The transfer seminar and the final conference of the Working 4 Talent project will take place during this week contributing with a highly valuable external perspective to San Sebastian s Knowledge based economy. Day 1: TRANSFER SEMINAR: Donostia Enpresekin: New ideas for the success of the companies in the comming years THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE PART OF THE INNOVATION WEEK DonostiaINN. *Venue: Kursaal Center *Concept line of the seminar Where are the business opportunities? Where is the business? What do businesses face in the short term? Apart from surviving you have to consolidate yourself and grow. We refer in short to Business Innovation. *Aim of the seminar The latest macro-economic data point to a possible improvement in the national and international economies giving rise to a scenario where the possibilities of economic recovery and growth for companies are greater. However, this new framework, as has been observed, has given rise to new forms of competing to which companies have to adapt. Business innovation continues to be the key for SMEs to adapt to the environment and keep clients. The Enpresekin conference aims to offer companies a space where top level experts, entities and companies present to the SMEs in San Sebastian and the rest of the Basque region the keys to growth, to consolidate themselves and in short be able to recover past successes. *Structure of the conference: -Morning: talks and business networking based on Business Innovation -Afternoon: Finance Market (III Keiretsu Forum Euskadi and round-tables on finance. 9 Day 2: FINAL CONFERENCE W4T PROJECT: Strategies for Talent Attraction THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE PART OF THE INNOVATION WEEK DonostiaINN. INTRODUCTION Human capital is a key factor for innovation, productivity and growth; however, the absorption capacity of the local and regional innovation systems (research centres, industry) in peripheral regions and cities is often limited, and it frequently leads to over qualification and/or migration, with the associated problems of brain drain. Thus, W4T project mainly addresses two simultaneous issues, both sides of the same coin. On one side the generation and filling of job opportunities in local innovation systems that may offer employment opportunities to local (talent retention) and external (talent attraction) high value human capital. The reverse side is the identification of mismatches between supply and demand. CONFERENCE S TOPIC -Strategies for talent attraction - Identify and disseminate strategies/actions/tools able to expand the development of a knowledge based economy and to enhance skilled human capital, building new tools for the growth of highly qualified jobs and adopting measures that favor the attraction and the retention of brains. CONFERENCE S OBJECTIVE Communicate W4T s project results Disseminate new tool/actions to promote knowledge base entrepreneurship and bran mobility GENERAL STRUCTURE Following the institutional presentations, two thematic round tables will be held. One of them will be focus on knowledge based entrepreneurship and the second one on brain mobility strategies. 9

10 ACCOMODATION: Some information regarding accomodation in San Sebastián. -San Sebastian is not a cheap city and hotels are usually expensive. 14 HOW TO GET THERE? Flights The are three airports you can use to fly into: A./Donostia-San Sebastián airport: San Sebastian airport is very small (connections from Madrid & Barcelona).
