2 JUNIOR SUMMER COURSE 2018: ACTIVITY PROGRAM This activities program was developed by our 2017 Program Coordinator & the feedback from the 2017 students. Our 2018 program includes favourite student activities while still ensuring a good mix of recreational, cultural, social and sporting activities. The photos seen in this program were taken during the 2016 and 2017 Junior Summer Co e a big thanks to everyone who appears! Activities are subject to change due to student demand, availability and weather, but can be used as a guide when enrolling for the 2018 Junior Summer Course. We hope you can join us in 2018 for a fun-filled summer while you discover the heart, soul and language of Spain, the Basque Country and San Sebastián. Hasta pronto! 3 JUNIOR SUMMER COURSE 2018: ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES In addition to our fixed Activities Program, our Junior Summer Course students can also add other activities. These normally take place on TUESDAY and THURSDAY AFTERNOONS so as not to conflict with other activities. SURF: The course is held on Tuesday and Thursday with a maximum of 6 students per instructor. Surfboard and wetsuit hire are included in the price and the course takes place at Zurriola Beach (the surf beach in San Sebastián). PRICE: 68 per week Stand up paddle: The stand up paddle course takes place in La Concha bay, and is held on Tuesday and Thursday. The course price includes all the necessary equipment. PRICE: 48 per week KAYAK: The kayak course takes place in La Concha Bay, twice a week, and is given by a qualified instructor. The course price includes all necessary equipment hire and access to the club amenities. PRICE: 48 per week

4 Monday 04/06: Panoramic Tour of San Sebastian Monday 11/06: Bike Tour A panoramic tour of the beautiful city of San Sebastian you do not want to miss it! A fun bike tour around the city is the best way to get to know San Sebastian Wednesday 06/06: Aquarium Wednesday 13/06: Monte Igeldo Spend the afternoon exploring the aquarium. There s plenty of time to see all the sea creatures & you can even find Nemo! Visit one of the oldest Amusement Parks in Spain & check out the beautiful views of San Sebastian. Friday 08/06: Zumaia Friday 15/06: Cinema We will visit the famous flysch of Zumaia and spend the afternoon in this beautiful Basque beach town. Let s go to the cinema & watch a new release movie (in Spanish, of course!). Saturday 09/06: Hondarribia & Hendaye Saturday 16/06: Bilbao & The Guggenheim Museum We will visit the fisherman town Hondarribia and then continue to a pretty seaside town in the French Basque Country. Enjoy a wonderful walk & visit a local market to buy homemade bread, sweets, fruits & much more! We will visit Bilbao to see its charming buildings, football stadium & the Guggenheim museum

5 Monday 18/06: Scavenger Hunt Monday 25/06: Sport at the beach Explore & discover San Sebastian with a fun group activity! Who will win the final prize? Spend the afternoon at the beach playing sports & enjoying a small picnic lunch. Wednesday 20/06 : Pasaia Wednesday 27/06: Acrosport & Capoeira A short bus ride to the fishing town of Pasaia. Enjoy a boat ride with views of amazing scenery & Jaizkibel mountain. An entertaining afternoon in Cristina Enea park to learn Acrosport (acrobatic moves in teams) and Capoiera (Brazilian martial arts). Visit the science museum for a hands-on afternoon of experiments and exploration! Friday 22/06: Planetarium & Science Museum Friday 29/06: San Telmo Museum & hot chocolate with churros We will visit the Basque Country history museum, and then enjoy delicious churros with hot chocolate Saturday 23/06: Hiking Orio-Zarautz Saturday 30/06: Gernika & San Juan de Gaztelugatxe A short but nice hike along the Basque Coast. We will start at Orio and finish at the famous surf beach in Zarautz. We will go to Gernika and visit its famous El Museo de La Paz to learn about peace and reconciliation. Then we will continue our journey to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.

6 Monday 02/07: Panoramic Tour of San Sebastian & Aquarium Monday 09/07: Scavenger Hunt A panoramic tour of the beautiful city of San Sebastian and spend the afternoon exploring the aquarium. Explore & discover San Sebastian with a fun group activity! Who will win the final prize? Wednesday 04/07: Santa Clara Island Wednesday 11/07: San Fermines A picnic lunch on Santa Clara island, followed by swimming and/or exploring the island. Enjoy the traditional fiesta of San Fermines in Pamplona! Spend the afternoon exploring the city & enjoying the festive atmosphere. Friday 06/07: Zumaia Friday 13/07: Hernani s small aquapark We will visit the famous flysch of Zumaia and spend the afternoon in this beautiful Basque beach town. Spend the afternoon at Hernani s small aquapark. You will enjoy the slides! Saturday 07/07: Wipeout in Senpere & Biarritz (FRANCE) Saturday 14/07: Bilbao We ll visit the French Basque Country & stop at the lake of Senpere lo get fun in the wipeout aquazone. Then we ll move on to Biarritz and visit its beautiful coastal walkways, impressive buildings and mini castles. We will visit Bilbao to see its charming buildings, football stadium & the Guggenheim museum

7 Monday 16/07: Monte Igeldo Monday 23/07: Zarautz Visit one of the oldest Amusement Parks in Spain & check out the beautiful views of San Sebastian. Spend the afternoon at the seaside town of Zarautz. A short bus ride to the fishing town of Pasajes San Juan - Enjoy a boat ride with views of amazing scenery & Jaizkibel mountain Wednesday 18/07: Pasaia Tuesday 25/07: Wipeout & Saint Jean de Luz (FRANCE) We will visit the French Basque Country. We will stop at the lake of Senpere lo get fun in the wipeout aquazone and at San Juan de Luz, known for its beach and great shopping. Friday 20/07: Cinema Wednesday 27/07: San Telmo Museum & hot chocolate with churros Let s go to the cinema & watch a new release movie (in Spanish, of course!). We will visit the Basque Country history museum, and then enjoy delicious churros with hot chocolate Saturday 21/07: Andoain waterholes and green way Saturday 28/07 Boat trip from Hondarribia We will walk along Leitzaran green way and we will enjoy the waterholes and the river Enjoy a boat trip around the Basque coast and visit the fisherman town Hondarribia.

Visit one of the oldest Amusement Parks in Spain & check out the beautiful views of San Sebastian. We will go to Gernika and visit its famous tree. Then we will continue our journey to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Afterwards, sit back and enjoy the sights and stars of the universe in the planetarium A short bus ride to the fishing town of Pasaia. Enjoy a boat ride with views of amazing scenery & Jaizkibel mountain. Saturday 04/08: Hiking from Zarautz to Getaria Saturday 11/08: Andoain waterholes and green way A short but beautiful hike along the Basque Coast. We ll start at the famous surf beach in Zarautz and finish at Getaria. We will walk along Leitzaran green way and we will enjoy the waterholes and the river

9 Monday 13/08: Semana Grande Festival Monday 20/08: Bike Tour Wednesday 15/08: Hiking Orio-Zarautz Start the week off by celebrating San Sebastian Festival Week in the Old Town with the pirates! A fun bike tour around the city is the best way to get to know San Sebastian. A short but nice hike along the Basque Coast. We will start at Orio and finish at the famous surf beach in Zarautz. Wednesday 22/08:Santa Clara Island Friday 17/08: Zumaia We will visit the famous flysch of Zumaia and spend the afternoon in this beautiful Basque beach town. A picnic lunch on Santa Clara island, followed by swimming and/or exploring the island. Saturday 18/08: Bilbao Friday 24/08: Rowing in the river We will visit Bilbao to see its charming buildings, football stadium & Guggenheim museum To celebrate the end of the Junior Summer Course we will row in the Urumea river and we will have a party in Cristina Enea Park.
