2 JUNIOR SUMMER COURSE 2017: ACTIVITY PROGRAM This activities program was developed by our 2016 Program Coordinator & the feedback from the 2016 students. Our 2017 program includes favourite student activities while still ensuring a good mix of recreational, cultural, social and sporting activities. The photos seen in this program were taken during the 2015 and 2016 Junior Summer Course a big thanks to everyone who appears! Activities are subject to change due to student demand and weather, but can be used as a guide when enrolling for the 2017 Junior Summer Course. We hope you can join us in 2017 for a fun-filled summer while you discover the heart, soul and language of Spain, the Basque Country and San Sebastián. Hasta pronto!

3 JUNIOR SUMMER COURSE 2017: ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES In addition to our fixed Activities Program, our Junior Summer Course students can also add other activities. These normally take place on TUESDAY and THURSDAY AFTERNOONS so as not to conflict with other activities. SURF: The course is held on Tuesday and Thursday with a maximum of 6 students per instructor. Surfboard and wetsuit hire are included in the price and the course takes place at Zurriola Beach (the surf beach in San Sebastián). PRICE: 65 per week FOOTBALL/SOCCER: A fun way to continue practicing Spanish outside of the classroom and meet local people. The course takes place over two afternoons in modern, professional facilities which are only a short walk from the school. The course culminates in a scrimmage (friendly match). PRICE: 45 per week KAYAK: The kayak course takes place in La Concha Bay, twice a week, and is given by a qualified instructor. The course price includes all necessary equipment hire and access to the club amenities. PRICE: 45 per week

4 JUNIOR SUMMER COURSE 2017: ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES Stand up paddle: The stand up paddle course takes place in La Concha bay, and is held on Tuesday and Thursday. The course price includes all the necessary equipment. PRICE: 45 per week Golf: The golf course takes place either in Spain or in France. If you want to try the sport or you want to improve your current level, join this Golf course! Includes green fee, golf clubs, tees and golf balls. PRICE: 65 per week

5 Monday 05/06: Panoramic Tour of San Sebastian Monday 12/06: Scavenger Hunt A panoramic tour of the beautiful city of San Sebastian you do not want to miss it! Explore & discover San Sebastian with a fun group activity! Who will win the final prize?! Wednesday 07/06: Monte Igueldo Wednesday 14/06: Aquarium Visit one of the oldest amusement parks in Spain & check out the beautiful views of San Sebastian. Spend the afternoon exploring the aquarium. There s plenty of time to see all the sea creatures & you can even find Nemo! Friday 09/06: Zumaia Friday 16/06: Cinema We will visit the famous flysch of Zumaia and spend the afternoon in this beautiful Basque beach town. Let s go to the cinema & watch a new release movie (in Spanish, of course!). Saturday 10/06: Bilbao & The Guggenheim Museum Saturday 17/06: Hondarribia & Hendaye We will visit Bilbao to see its charming buildings, football stadium & the Guggenheim museum We will visit the fisherman town Hondarribia and then continue to a pretty seaside town in the French Basque Country. Enjoy a wonderful walk & visit a local market to buy homemade bread, sweets, fruits & much more!

6 Monday 19/06: Bike Tour Monday 26/06: Monte Igueldo A fun bike tour around the city is the best way to get to know San Sebastian Visit one of the oldest Amusement Parks in Spain & check out the beautiful views of San Sebastian. Wednesday 21/06 : Planetarium & Science Museum Wednesday 28/06: Sport at the beach Visit the science museum for a hands-on afternoon of experiments and exploration! Spend the afternoon at the beach playing sports & enjoying a small picnic lunch. Friday 23/06: Pasajes Friday 30/06: Picnic on Santa Clara Island A short bus ride to the fishing town of Pasajes San Juan - Enjoy a boat ride with views of amazing scenery & Jaizkibel mountain. A picnic lunch on Santa Clara island, followed by swimming and/or exploring the island. Saturday 24/06: Hiking Orio-Zarautz Saturday 01/07: Guernica & San Juan Gastelugatxe A short but nice hike along the Basque Coast. We will start at Orio and finish at the famous surf beach in Zarautz. We will go to Guernica and visit its famous El Museo de La Paz to learn about peace and reconciliation. Then we will continue our journey to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.

7 Monday 03/07: Scavenger Hunt Monday 10/07: Cinema Explore & discover San Sebastian with a fun group activity! Who will win the final prize?! Let s go to the cinema & watch a new release movie (in Spanish, of course). Wednesday 05/07: San Juan Wednesday 12/07: Aquarium A short bus ride to the fishing town of Pasajes San Juan. Enjoy a boat ride with views of amazing scenery & Jaizkibel mountain. Spend the afternoon exploring the aquarium. There s plenty of time to see all the sea creatures & you can even find Nemo! Enjoy the traditional fiesta of San Fermines in Pamplona! Spend the afternoon exploring the city & enjoying the festive atmosphere. Friday 07/07: San Fermines Spend the afternoon at the seaside town of Zarautz. Friday 14/07: Zarautz Saturday 08/07: Bilbao Saturday 15/07: Biarritz & Saint Jean de Luz (FRANCE) We will visit Bilbao to see its charming buildings, football stadium & the Guggenheim museum We ll visit thefrench Basque Country & stop at San Juan de Luz, known for its beach and great shopping. Then we ll move on to Biarritz and visit its beautiful coastal walkways, impressive buildings and mini castles.

8 A panoramic tour of the beautiful city of San Sebastian you do not want to miss it! Monday 17/07: Panoramic tour An afternoon picnic in the beautiful garden of Palacio Aiete. A great opportunity to get to know your new classmates. Monday 24/07: Picnic at Palacio Aiete Wednesday 19/07: Fishing school in San Sebastian Wednesday 26/07: Monte Igueldo A fun afternoon learning how to fish in some of the most beautiful places in San Sebastian. Visit one of the oldest Amusement Parks in Spain & check out the beautiful views of San Sebastian. Friday 21/07: San Telmo Museum & hot chocolate with churros Friday 28/07: Cinema We will visit the Basque Country history museum, and then enjoy delicious churros with hot chocolate Let s go to the cinema & watch a new release movie (in Spanish, of course). Saturday 22/07: Hondarribia & Hendaye Saturday 29/07 Boat trip We will visit the fisherman town Hondarribia and then continue to a pretty seaside town in French Basque Country. Enjoy a wonderful walk & visit a local market to buy homemade bread, sweets, fruits & much more! Enjoy a boat trip around the Basque coast

Wednesday 02/08: Sport at the beach Wednesday 09/08: Learning Brazilian Martial Arts Spend the afternoon at the beach playing sports & enjoying a small picnic lunch. An entertaining afternoon in Cristina Enea park to learn Capoiera (Brazilian martial arts). Friday 04/08: Science museum Friday 11/08: Fishing school in San Sebastian Visit the science museum for a hands-on afternoon of experiments and exploration! Afterwards, sit back and enjoy the sights and stars of the universe in the planetarium A fun afternoon learning how to fish in some of the most beautiful places in San Sebastian. Saturday 05/08: Hiking from Orio to Zarautz Saturday 12/08: Victoria A short but beautiful hike along the Basque Coast. We ll start at Orio and finish at the famous surf beach in Zarautz. Visit the capital of Basque Country with its beautiful parks, vintage architecture & more!

10 Monday 14/08: Semana Grande Festival Monday 21/08: Bike Tour Start the week off by celebrating San Sebastian Festival Week in the Old Town! A fun bike tour around the city is the best way to get to know San Sebastian. Wednesday 16/08: Igueldo Visit one of the oldest Amusement Parks in Spain & check out the beautiful views of San Sebastian. Wednesday 23/08: Picnic on Santa Clara Island Friday 18/08: Planetarium & Science Museum A picnic lunch on Santa Clara island, followed by swimming and/or exploring the island. Visit the science museum for a hands-on afternoon of experiments and exploration! Saturday 19/08: Bilbao Friday 25/08: Pintxo Tour We will visit Bilbao to see its charming buildings, football stadium & Guggenheim museum To celebrate the end of the Junior Summer Course we will head to the Old Town and do a special Pintxo Tour. Pintxos are a special type of food (similar to a tapa) that are enjoyed and loved by the locals!
