1 FOREST EUROPE ROUND TABLE ON TOPICS FOR THE 7 TH FOREST EUROPE MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE 4-5 November 2014, NH Hotel, Cuenca, Spain PRACTICAL INFORMATION Bellow you will find information on how to register for the Round Table on Topics for the 7 th FOREST EUROPE Ministerial Conference, the venue, hotel and other practical information regarding the meeting. HOW TO REGISTER To register for the meeting, please visit the following site: Participants are requested to register at their earliest convenience, preferably no later than Monday 27 October MEETING The meeting will be held on 4 5 November 2014 at the NH Hotel, Cuenca, Spain. The meeting is scheduled to start at 10:00 hours on Tuesday 4 November 2014 and will last until 13:30 hours on Wednesday 5 November Participants are kindly invited to a fieldtrip that will take place in the evening of Wednesday 5 November More information about this fieldtrip will be available in due time. LANGUAGE & DOCUMENTATION The meeting will be held in English and interpreted into Russian, French and Spanish. The background documents for the meeting will be in English and will be delivered in due time. MEALS There will be coffee breaks during the meeting at the same venue. Lunch is not included in the meetings arrangements. There is a restaurant in the venue and restaurants nearby. VISA INFORMATION Participants are responsible for checking visa requirements and making their own visa arrangements before departure, including visa for transit or stopover. 1

Reception: ARRIVAL DETAILS To arrive to Cuenca you can take a flight either to Madrid or to Alicante or Valencia and from there a high speed train (AVE) to Cuenca. Travel from Madrid Airport (Barajas Adolfo Suárez) to Cuenca The major airport is the Madrid Barajas airport, located 12 Km northeast of Madrid. Participants can take the local train (line C1 in light blue) in the airport Terminal 4, and stops in Puerta de Atocha Station: 2

3 You can also take the underground: oesquematicoespanol.pdf And there is an urban bus too, from airport to Atocha Station: In Puerta de Atocha Station a high speed train (AVE) will take you to Cuenca in one hour (Cuenca is located approximately 140 km from Madrid). Please visit the following website to buy the train tickets from Madrid to Cuenca: (please note that the tickets cannot be bought through the web till 50 days before your trip). Travel from Valencia or Alicante Airports to Cuenca You can also fly to Valencia or Alicante airports, where a high speed train (AVE) will take you to Cuenca in one hour more or less (Cuenca is located approximately 280 km from Alicante and 190 from Valencia). PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN CUENCA Travel from Cuenca Train Station to Cuenca city: Participants can take taxi (taxi desk is located on the exit of the Cuenca Station, and the price should not be higher than 20 EUR), or also can take an urban bus L12 that will take you directly to the NH Hotel (every 30 minutes, 1,05 ) pdf ACCOMODATION Participants are kindly requested to take care of their hotel booking. There are several nice hotels in Cuenca. The Liaison Unit Madrid has arranged a limited number of rooms at discount price for FOREST EUROPE guest in the same hotel where the meeting will take place, and in two others hotels in the old center of the city.
