2 Lacunza IH San Sebastian Mundaiz 8, San Sebastian, Spain Tel: , JUNIOR SUMMER COURSE 2015: ACTIVITY PROGRAM This activities program was developed by our 2014 Program Coordinator & the feedback from the 2014 students. Our 2015 program includes favourite student activities while still ensuring a good mix recreational, cultural, social and sporting activities. The photos seen in this program were taken during the 2014 Junior Summer Course a big thanks to everyone who appears! You can check out all the photos at: Activities are subject to change due to student demand and weather but can be used as a guide when enrolling for the 2015 Junior Summer Course. We hope you can join us in 2015 for a fun-filled summer while you discover the heart, soul and language of Spain, Basque Country and San Sebastian. Hasta pronto!

3 JUNIOR SUMMER COURSE 2015: ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES In addition to our Activities Program, our Junior Summer Course students can also ADD additional activities. These normally take place on TUESDAY and THURSDAY AFTERNOONS so as not to conflict with other activities. SURF: The course is held on Tuesday and Thursday with a maximum of 6 students per instructor. Surfboard and wetsuit hire are included in the price and the course takes place at Zurriola Beach (the surf beach in San Sebastian). PRICE: 45 per week FOOTBALL/SOCCER: A fun way to continue practicing Spanish outside of the classroom and meet local people. The course takes place over 2 afternoon in Soccer World s modern, professional facilities which are only a short walk from the school. The course calumniates in a scrimmage (friendly match). PRICE: 38 per week KAYAK: The kayak course takes place in La Concha Bay and is run by a qualified instructor from the Fortuna Sporting Club. Held over 2 afternoons the course price includes all necessary equipment hire and access to the club amenities. 4 Monday 01/06: Panoramic Tour of San Sebastian Monday 08/06: Scavenger Hunt A panoramic tour of the beautiful city of San Sebastian you will not want to miss it! Explore & discover San Sebastian with a fun group activity! Who will win the final prize?! Wednesday 03/06: Salsa & Merengue Wednesday 10/06: Fishing school in San Sebastian Shake those hips like Shakira! A fun afternoon learning how salsa and merengue. A fun afternoon learning how to fish in some of the most beautiful places in San Sebastian. Friday 05/06: Zarautz Enjoy a fun afternoon at the seaside town of Zarautz Friday 12/06: Cinema Let s go to the cinema & watch a new release movie (in Spanish). Saturday 05/06: Biarritz (FRANCE) We ll visit French Basque Country, Biarritz and visit its scenic coastal walkways and impressive buildings and mini castles. Saturday 13/06: Zumaia We ll visit the famous flysch of Zumaia and spend the day in this beautiful Basque beach town!

5 Monday 22/06: Monte Igueldo Monday 15/06: Bike Tour A fun bike tour around the city is the best way to get to know scenic San Sebastian Visit one of the oldest Amusement Park in Spain & check out the beautiful views of San Sebastian. Wednesday 17/06 : Planetarium & Science Museum Visit the science museum for a hands-on afternoon of experiments and exploration! Afterwards, sit back and enjoy the sights and stars of the universe in the planetarium. Wednesday 24/06: San Telmo Museum & hot chocolate with churros A visit to the basque culture & History museum then a delicious treat: hot chocolate with churros (Spanish style doughnuts). Friday 19/06: Pasajes Friday 26/06: Picnic on Santa Clara Island A short bus ride to the fishing town of Pasajes San Juan. Enjoy a boat ride with views of amazing scenery & jaizkibel mountain. A picnic lunch on Santa Clara island & then enjoy the afternoon swimming or exploring the island. Saturday 20/06: Bilbao & Guggenheim Museum Visit to Bilbao to see its charming buildings, football stadium & visit to the most famous museum in Basque Country the Guggenheim Museum. Saturday 27/06: Guernica & San Juan Gastelugatxe We will go to Guernica and visit its famous El Museo de La Paz to learn about peace and reconciliation. Then we will continue our journey to San Juan Gastelugatxe.

6 Monday 29/07: Scavenger Hunt Monday 06/07: Picnic at Palacio Aiete Explore & discover San Sebastian with a fun group activity! Who will win the final prize?! Wednesday 01/07: Pasajes Wednesday 08/07: San Fermines A short bus ride to the fishing town of Pasajes San Juan. Enjoy a boat ride with views of amazing scenery & Jaizkibel mountain. Enjoy the traditional fiesta of San Fermines in Pamplona! Arrive early to seeing the Running of the Bulls then spend the afternoon exploring the city & enjoying the festive atmosphere. Friday 03/07: Learning Brazilian martial arts An entertaining afternoon in Cristina Enea park to learn Capoiera (Brazilian martial arts) Friday 10/07: Zarautz Spend the afternoon at the seaside town of Zarautz. Saturday 04/07: Bilbao Saturday 11/07: Biarritz & Saint Jean de Luz (FRANCE) Visit to Bilbao to see its charming buildings, football stadium & visit El Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao We ll visit French Basque Country & stop at San Juan de Luz known for its beach and great shopping. Then we ll move onto Biarritz and visit its scenic coastal walkways and impressive buildings and mini castles.

7 Monday 13/07: Aquarium Spend the afternoon exploring the aquarium. There s plenty of time to see all the sea creatures & you can even find Nemo! Monday 20/07: Picnic at Palacio Aiete An afternoon picnic at Palacio Aiete with a beautiful garden. A great opportunity to get to know your new classmates. Wednesday 15/07: Fishing school in San Sebastian Wednesday 22/07: Monte Igueldo A fun afternoon learning how to fish in some of the most beautiful places in San Sebastian. Visit one of the oldest Amusement Park in Spain & check out the beautiful views of San Sebastian. Friday 17/07: San Telmo Museum & hot chocolate with churros Friday 24/07: Cinema A visit to the Basque Culture & History museum hen a delicious traditional treat: hot chocolate with churros (Spanish style doughnuts). Let s go to the cinema & watch a new release movie (in Spanish). Saturday 18/07: Hondarribia & Hendaye Visit to a fisherman town Hondarribia and then continue our visit to the pretty seaside town in French Basque Country. Enjoy a wonderful walk & visit a local market to buy homemade bread, sweets, fruits & much more! Saturday 25/07 Zumaia A short train ride to reach Zumaia, a small town in the Basque Country that is famous for its flysch.

Wednesday 05/08: Learning Brazilian Martial Arts An entertaining afternoon in Cristina Enea park to learn Capoiera (Brazilian martial arts). Friday 31/07: Boat trip around Txingudi Bay On this special PUBLIC HOLIDAY, take on a boat trip around the Basque coast. Friday 07/08: Fishing school in San Sebastian A fun afternoon learning how to fish in some of the most beautiful places in San Sebastian. Saturday 01/08: Hiking from Orio to Zarautz A short but scenic hike along the Basque Coast. We ll start at Orio and finish at the famous surf beach in Zarautz. Saturday 08/08: Victoria Visit the capital of Basque Country with its beautiful parks, vintage architecture & more!

9 Monday 10/08: Semana Grande Festival Monday 17/08: Bike Tour Start the week off by celebrating San Sebastian Festival Week in the Old Town! Wednesday 12/08: Waterpolo+ chocolate con churros. Play waterpolo & then eat some delicious hot chocolate with churros. A fun bike tour around the city is the best way to get to know scenic of San Sebastian. Wednesday 19/08: Picnic on Santa Clara Island A picnic lunch on Santa Clara island & then enjoy the afternoon swimming or exploring the island. Friday 14/08: Planetarium & Science Museum Visit the science museum for a hands-on afternoon of experiments and exploration! Afterwards, sit back and enjoy the sights and stars of the universe in the planetarium. Saturday 15/08: Bilbao Friday 21/08: Pintxo Tour Visit to Bilbao to see its charming buildings, football stadium & the old part. Pintxos are small morsels of food (similar to a tapa) that are enjoyed and loved by the locals!
