Mondiali Antirazzisti (The Antiracist World Cup) is a multicultural 5 days long festival which has around visitors per day. The main idea of the festival is to promote anti-racism and anti-discrimination through non-competitive tournaments of football, volleyball, basketball, touch rugby and cricket. The goal of these sport activities is to get to know each other and have fun together, not to win. More than 200 teams every year join the Mondiali Antirazzisti and 70 of the teams are mixed: no racist or sexist discrimination is allowed There are many other activities taking place during the festival such as concerts, workshops, debates, summer camp for children. The organisers take care of another important aspect of the event which is low environmental impact, reached thanks to recycling, use of renewable resources and natural local products. For the people of Mondiali Antirazzisti the environmental sustainability is linked to the social justice and equality. Please make sure you share these values before applying for this project Website: ( version is available) The international volunteers will be part of a bigger team of volunteers helping set up, run and take down the festival. Before the festival the group of the international volunteers will help to construct the marquees, decorate the area, put up signage etc. Typical activities during the festival include cleaning the site and helping with waste sorting, however the past years volunteers have been involved in a number of different activities, according to the festival needs. The volunteers will clean up and take down the site at the end of the festival. The international volunteers will work for around 6/7 hours per day. The work will be done in pairs or small groups in different shifts (to be arranged together with the campleader). Please note that flexibility and adaptability are required, and there might be some physically demanding work from time to time (under the sun or rain sometimes). During the free time the volunteers will have the opportunity to join concerts and sport events in the festival area. International volunteers will have 1 free day, to be arranged with the festival organisers (not during the 5 days of the festival, from 05th to 09th of July). Volunteers will sleep in shared big tents directly at the festival area. Toilet and washing facilities will be available, camp beds will be provided but you must bring a sleeping bag. Please make sure you are comfortable with basic camping conditions Food will be available at the restaurants/bars of the festival area. There will be no opportunity to cook but different options (vegetarian, vegan, dietary needs) could be available. The volunteers are expected to be flexible and not fussy about the food. Bosco Albergati is a suburb of Castelfranco Emilia, a small town of inhabitants in the province of Modena. The festival area and accommodation are situated in the countryside and are quite isolated from the city. Castelfranco Emilia lies about 25 kilometres northwest of Bologna. The nearest airport is Marconi International Airport i Bologna. You may consider other airports in the area, such as Rimini and Parma. To reach Castelfranco Emilia you will need to catch a train from BOLOGNA. More information will be provided in the infosheet.. No specific experience is required for the project. Giovani Insieme onlus is a voluntary association that since 1998 has organised groups of workcamp volunteers for the protection of artistic, cultural and environmental heritage in Carignano. The work camps in Carignano were started to restore some rooms in a building in the historical centre of the town. Through this project volunteers have the opportunity to recover Carignano s architectural heritage and enjoy the environment whilst meeting young people from all over the world. Volunteers will restore two rooms of Villa Bona, a wonderful historical villa of the 18th century surrounded by a big park, situated in Carignano. The restoration work will involve: the decoration of the walls, doors and windows; removal of boxes; cleaning of the marble staircase and the wrought iron railings; restoration of the dark wooden paintings, cleaning the garden of Villa Bona. Moreover the volunteers will make some restoration activities at the Opera Pia Faccio Frichieri (an ancient building of Carignano that nowadays is an old-people s home) such as: garden cleaning, restoration of the nativity scene, cleaning and restoration of the pavement, wooden benches and doors of the church at Opera Pia. All these activities will be under the guidance of a professional conservator. The restoration of Villa Bona is being finalized to use the villa for public events by the committee and local organizations. In a building with beds, communal bathrooms with showers and hot water and a kitchen. Bedrooms are provided with 2 to 5 beds per room. The volunteers are responsible for the cleaning and cooking. The organisation covers the cost of the meals and also the materials for the work. Volunteers must be equipped with a sleeping bag (or sheets), pillowcase and towels. The town of Carignano (8700 inhabitants) is situated on the left bank of the river Po approximately 20 Km from Torino and within the Regional Parco Fluviale (park of the river). Its centre is of typical piemontese style, characterized by an ancient core with medieval archways and a baroque cathedral. The towns surroundings offer sites of architectural and naturalistic interest, it is also possible to reach Torino easily, as there are frequent coaches to the city. During the free time there are many exciting things to do such as visit the open market of Carignano and take part in some local events. On the weekends it will be possible for the group to organise a visit to Turin (there is a bus to and from Turin), visiting the Egyptian museum, the cinema museum, MAO museum of oriental art, the Holy Shroud etc.. The project is NOT suitable for volunteers with allergies to food, pollen or asthmatics, and requires resistance to work with high temperatures. YAP project-related motivation form is required. The workcamp aims to discover and make available the old ruins, located in the middle of the Simbruini Mountain Regional Park at 1200m altitude, clearing the trails from weeds. Camerata Nuova (850 m) is a small town in the province of Rome, located in the Park of Simbruini mountain. The territory of this country is characterized by the presence of the ruins of the original and millenary country, called Camorata, located at 1200 meters above sea level. The old town (also known as the Ancient Camerata ) has been destroyed due to a fire in The ruins in addition to being a significant archaeological site is located in a pristine environment of great importance, in a natural landscape rich in indigenous flora and fauna. The Association Pro-Camorata aims to enhance, improve and revive the archaeological site of Camerata through study, research, development and teaching of cultural and artistic techniques. The volunteer will make available the trails leads to the ruins, in particular the original ancient paths shown on the Land Registry Gregorian. Volunteers will be engaged in cleaning and maintenance of trails. The work will be hard and under the sun. The volunteers will be hosted in a school in Camerata Nuova (30 minutes far by car from the work area). Showers and dining place are indoor. There is a camp-equipped kitchen. Food will be provided by the local host and the volunteers will cook and clean as a team. Mostly the food will be for the Mediterranean diet. The school is equipped with camp beds, volunteers need to bring sleeping bags. Camerata Nuova (New Camerata) is a small village in the province of Rome(around 480 inhabitants, a bit more in the summertime), situated in the Park of Simbruini Mountains, about 70 km East of Rome. Although it s not far from Rome, there is no bus connection after 5 p.m. so it will be possible to visit Rome only during the free day Volunteers will have a perfect opportunity to get to know a very friendly local community and discover the local traditional cuisine as well Please, bring with you typical games, recipes, musical instruments from your country. The volunteers will also be involved in local festivals and cultural visits, and get the chance to visit Rome at least once.. This project is perfectly suitable with nature lovers and people highly motivated for manual work. Please bring with you typical games, musical instruments from your country. The workcamp is organized in collaboration with no-profit association Castello Manservisi that manages the Manservisi Castle. The Manservisi Castle is a cultural, touristic and exhibition centre that organizes a full calendar of events, especially in summer: exhibitions of art and photography, concerts, theatre performances, film festivals, presentation of books, meetings on scientific and naturalistic topics. Built in the end of 19th century on the ruins of 17th century castle, the Manservisi Castle is situated in the middle of Tuscan Emilian Apennines, between Bologna and Pistoia, in Castelluccio di Porretta Terme. Nowadays the complex is formed by several buildings, which are located in a large park near the Museum Laborantes, the largest ethnographic museum of the area. Since 2010, after the long period of abandon, the no-profit association Castello Manservisi is taking care of the castle and making some renovation and maintenance work. One part of the castle is now integrated with scattered hotel in Castelluccio, the aim is to make park and the structure available for visitors and guests. Website (only in Italian): The main work will consist in cleaning and maintenance of the outdoor site of the castle and the park. Volunteers will be working 7-8 hours per day under the supervision of local technical leader. During the workcamp, on 26th of July there will be a traditional celebration of Madonna del Faggio so the volunteers will be also involved in setting up and taking off the stands, the tables and other structures for the feast. It will be a perfect opportunity to get to know the local community and discover the local cuisine as well Be prepared for physical work. The volunteers will be hosted in one of the buildings of the Manservisi Castle on the territory of the park. The accommodation has beds, 3 toilets and shower. Sleeping bag is required. The meals will be provided by the staff of the centre, the volunteers will clean the dining room and wash the dishes as a group. During the workcamp there will be several events and activities organized by local partner so the volunteers are asked to be respectful and polite with other guests of the park. The Manservisi Castle is situated in a small village near to Castelluccio di Porretta Terme which is quite isolated: there is no public transport after 7 p.m.. Roiate is a small isolated and picturesque village, about 60 km from Rome, surrounded by the natural park of Aniene river. There are some ancient ruins in the park: this territory has been inhabited since the pre-roman era and you can still observe pieces of polygonal walls (aka Cyclopean masonry ) built in the Iron Age. In the Middle Age, Roiate fell under control of the monastery of Subiaco and, according to the legend, Saint Benedict from Norcia left his mark on a stone nearby while lying on it. Ever since the IV century a church and then a convent were built to preserve this stone. The church, devoted to Saint Benedict himself, still exists. Rich natural, cultural and historical heritage ensures the constant interest of pilgrims and hikers in visiting this area thanks to several trekking footpaths across the natural park. Sentiero Verde is a non profit organisation that since 30 years deals with trekking and ecotourism in Lathium region, creates different extra urban and urban footpaths, organises training courses for mountain guides, promotes sustainable tourism and local development of territory through hiking. Thanks to the previous workcamps, Sentiero Verde has already restored a part of footpath of Roiate, it s time to make a next step Volunteers will be involved in many different outdoor activities such as cleaning and maintenance of the path that leads from the village to the ancient ruins, signals and fences restoring, lands reclaiming, garbage removing. Volunteers will be working 7-8 hours per day under the supervision of local technical leader. Be prepared for physical work Volunteers will also have the chance to meet the local community, participating in meetings and events and helping the organisation of local events. Volunteers will be hosted in the mountain shelter around 2 km away from the town centre. The lodging is structured into shared rooms with common bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. You must bring your sleeping bag and a mat. Budget for the food is provvided. The volunteers will go shopping, cook and clean as a team. Roiate, 60 km (1 h) away from Rome, is a very small village (around 800 inhabitants, a bit more in the summertime). Although it s not far from Rome, there is no bus connection after 5 p.m. so It s NOT possible to visit Rome after work or in the free time. Volunteers must be motivated to work hard to make the festival a success, be enthusiastic and open-minded. Since 1992, the Social Centre Magazzino 47 organizes a summer festival of Radio Onda d Urto in Brescia. The Festival aims to finance the independent radio station RADIO ONDA D URTO and its activities. The radio station was established in the 70 s, and since then provides social, political and cultural information out of the mainstream media. The aim of the workcamp is to support an independent voice and, through it, the freedom of speech. International volunteers will make up a bigger team of volunteers helping SET UP and run the festival. Before the beginning of the festival the group of the international volunteers will help to construct the marquees, decorate the area, put up signage etc. During the festival the volunteers will help maintaining site infrastructure e.g. cleaning the area and waste sorting (for later recycling), helping at food stands and restaurants to prepare, sell and serve the food, clean the kitchen and other spaces, arrange the area for the performances, etc. However the volunteers may be asked to do other jobs according to the festival needs. The international volunteers will work for around 7/8 hours per day/night. The work will be done in pairs or small groups in different shifts (to be arranged together with the campleader) in the morning, afternoon and mostly late in the evening. During the free time the volunteers will have the opportunity to join concerts, performances, DJ-sets, etc. in the festival area. Please note that flexibility and adaptability are required, and there might be some physically demanding work from time to time (under the sun or rain sometimes). Be ready to work in a big team of national volunteers and hopefully become wonderful members of this great family International volunteers will have 2 free days, to be arranged with the festival organizers. Volunteers will be hosted in a local social centre, called Magazzino 47, a self-managed place for youth where social, cultural, and political activities are organized. For the whole duration of the festival the social centre is closed for visitors and reserved for the accommodation of the volunteers. There are several toilets and a shower. The accommodation is not well-connected with the festival area by public transport so different pick up shifts will be arranged with the organisers to go to work and to come back to the accommodation. Sleeping bags, goodwill and open-mindedness are required. The festival takes place in Brescia, a city in Lombardy region in the north of Italy.. Grottammare bus station is the nearest terminal. REQUIREMENTS: YAP project-related motivation form is required. We don t need people with specific curriculum but aware about the topic and really motivated to contribute to the project. Any qualification or previous experience as nurse, physiotherapist or educator etc. is very welcome. Rio de Oro is a non profit association whose aim is to provide medical care and assistance to Saharawi people, especially kids with different kinds of disabilities (physical, cognitive, mental, sensory, emotional, developmental). Saharawi (desert people) lives in refugee camps in the southwest of Algeria. The Sahrawi refugees have survived the great exodus from the Western Sahara: endless marches in the desert in Rio de Oro was established in 2000 and helps Saharawi people with handicap problems directly in Algeria and in Italy. The main activities of Rio de Oro are: child sponsorship, support to the schools of special education, health care in refugee camps, summer camps and health care in Italy for disabled children (6-11 years old). Website: The international volunteers will be helping the staff and numerous national volunteers work with Saharawi children (6-11 years old) with different kinds of disabilities (physical, cognitive, mental, sensory, emotional, developmental). This means that most of the kids are not self-sufficient. Daily activities of the international volunteers will include the following: feeding the children (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks), getting them dressed, changing the diapers, showers, cleaning the house, cooking together. But also we need volunteers to come with a lot of energy to play, push wheelchair, go to the beach with the children. The shifts during the day and also night will be very flexible (to be arranged with the campleader and with local volunteers), so flexibility and adaptability are strongly required. and Spanish will be the main languages of the workcamp but any language skill is welcome Along with, the main spoken languages usually are: Italian (most of our volunteers are local), Spanish (Western Sahara used to be a Spanish colony before the Moroccan occupation; the leaders that come with the kids are fluent Spanish speakers) and, of course, Hassaniya, the arabic dialect the kids speak. Nevertheless, don t worry, you will manage to understand the kids, some of them speak Italian or understand Spanish and there will be a lot of interprets to help YAP project-related motivation form is required. The international volunteers will be hosted at the primary school in the city centre along with the national volunteers and the children. The school is equipped with: 5 shared bedrooms that will be appropriately separated for girls and boys, and the kids; bathrooms and a shower for each bedroom common bathrooms; dining room; kitchen; common areas: two halls for activities; gardens with games around the building; rooms for the children physical therapy. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided at the canteen by the hosting organization. Grottammare is a really nice seaside town of inhabitants on Italy s Adriatic coast, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, Marche region.. Along nearly a century the service carried out by even a small religious family has seen many results, of healthy growth for many children and young people who have not chosen to live on the edge and that only by difficulties related to the family of origin, have the bitter experience of not belonging to anyone. The objective of the workcamp is to complete the construction of a nature trail made of wooden toys, in order to equip an area of an ancient abandoned farm as a playground for children and adults. We will carry on with the reconstruction of paths and walls that are falling down, of benches and tables to be arranged under the oaks, to offer some relaxing areas for the sharing moments among the guests. The aim is to create a social farm, that in the future could accomodate a residential community of young people at risk of exclusion, or who feels the need of a social recovery. In the farm, through the rural work experience, they will gradually experience a restoration of their human dignity. Through personalized routes, in a natural environment, they will find reasons to live and hope for a better future. This workcamp will hopefully pave the way for more projects that aim to restructure, through the gift of a collective work, some parts of the old farm, such as the winery and other structures, half-destroyed by different upheavals of vulcanic nature. Volunteers will work from monday to friday, fron 8 am till 4 pm. On saturday and sunday they will be free to organize their free time. Brenta river, like a mountain landscape have a largest and beautiful terrace landscape in the north Italy, takes part to this meeting of local branches. In preparation to the arrive of the international organization for visiting the territory and discovering the specialities and meeting the local community, it is planned an operation of safety measures and recovery of routes where it is possibility to see the beautiful of landscape, ecolocical, hostorical and cultural values of the places. This coluld be an opportunity for increase routes for more visiting on the territory, with regard to discovering and promoting and creating an open air extended museum, that some local associations are contributing to the construction. The support of this workcamp is not only operating, also an exchancing and reaching that iti is important for the territory and its communty needs for find a new life and incentive. The activities will recover the routes. The routes are mountain and half coast, and they need cleaning work from the invasion of vegetation and maintenance/rebuilding of dry stone wall on the border of this routes. The volunteers are supported to operators of the local associations, that they could coordinate the work and support all of them, with knowledge too, for acting in accordance with the tecquiniques of local building. in the Casa ai Pasi in Valstagna. The first goal of the Association is to rebuild part of the parish house of the small Church of San Giovanni Battista di Tavernola, a small part of the village Grizzana Morandi. This old parish house hosted the association for more than 10 years, and now they want to revitalize the building as a hosting place for young groups to have experience of sharing. The volunteers will stay in the project together with the members of the Association to rebuild part of the building. Around the parish house there is a wide green area with possibility of trekking, a small river and the place is not far away from the cities of Florence, Bologna and Venice. Volunteers will do maintenance for a small part of the house in particular internal painting work. Small works to collect wood, cut the grass and build of a external gazebo. Working time will be for max 7-8 hours per day. During free time the members of the association will organise trips in the close wood and visits to some cities. Volunteers will be lodged in big rooms of the parish house. The meals will be prepared by the Association in collaboration with the volunteers. After the 2012 edition, when IBO Italy collaborated to support some villages of Emilia Romagna deeply damaged by the earthquake of may 2012; and 2013, when we supported volunteerism and youth mobility, also for 2014 strengths are united to collaborate for the youth volunteering. That's how the project of a new workcamp has raised, with the aim to involve a group of volunteers to support this project. The Ferrara Buskers Festival ( with its spectators, is the biggest event in the world dedicated to the street art. It was founded in 1988 with the aim of enhancing the role of street artists and to get to know a city rich in history and charm objectives which have been fully accomplished. The protagonists of the Festival are the buskers themselves; travelling artists who, in their daily activities, try to give some good humour and poetry to passers-by. Since the third edition, every year the festival is dedicated to a guest nation from which a large part of the 20 invited groups come from. In addiction to the invited ones, accredited groups participate at their own expenses and according to the selection they can perform even just for one day. Nobody receives a fee, just the offers that the public drops in their hat. The shows follows a daily rotation, so the groups changes their stage every day. Since 2011, the Festival organization is involved in the project Ecofestival, to reduce waste to the least and to fix elevated standard about the respect of the environment for events of wide range. In recent years, we have been able to work alongside the local communities of the various villages of the municipality of Carmignano (Bacchereto, Seano, Poggio alla Malva ect.) Working closely with the local administration, associations and locals alike. Each workcamp, each volunteer who has lived this experience, donated vitality and joy to the local community, with a commitment to the cultural and environmental heritage. Also for 2017 we want to continue the story that leads us to become volunteers for the environment and to discover the treasures of a little Italian, which we often forget about its beauty. The working activities will mainly consists in recovering some parts of naturalistic pathways starting from poggio alla Malva or other location displaced in the Municipalities of Carmignano from infestant herbs, trash and so on. Where necessary volunteers will also put new signals of pathways. The pathways they are going to clean have a hystorical-social value connected to the past.(etruscan heritage, II world war heritage and so on). STUDY PART: Formation on specific topics will be held through practical experience as well as non-formal learning methodologies. How to read a mountain pathway maps, how to behave in a hiking-thanks to collaboration with local CAI department (Italian Alpine Club). At the beginning of the workcamp some ice-breaking and group-building games/activities are foreseen. sustainable tourism through art (photoreportage of the faces and places of local community and realization of a short video or document/pictures to promote along ecotouristic blog/website or to be promoted inside "La nuova ecología" magazine). Other activities dealing with reflection on environmental topics are foreseen. At any time participants are encouraged to propose topics and activities to build togheter. This Municipality covers an area where historic, landscape and wine-gastronomic heritage are well represented. Thanks to its position between Prato and Florence, this lovely place is especially wonderful for its views and green countryside. Poggio alla Malva, one of the many villages that is under the Carmignano Municipality, is also very close to the UNESCO site "Artimino s Villa" a renaissance structure world-wide famous for its hundred chimney tops.
