2 8 th or 22 nd November 2015 At 09h00, Half Day City Tour Ponta Delgada on foot starting with a visit to the City Botanical Garden, populated by trees that impress with their monumental size or peculiar shape. Continue walking towards the centre of Ponta Delgada to visit the Museum of Sacred Art, located inside the ancient Jesuit College, presenting long term and temporary religious art exhibitions. Next stop is at Campo de São Francisco, where the main religious festivities of the island take place on the 5th Sunday after Easter. Here you will visit the church of Senhor Santo Cristo and learn the historical facts about this religious celebration. The tour continues to the square of the City Gates right in the centre of the town, facing the main waterfront avenue, and the church of São Sebastião. Free afternoon (lunch not included). Price per person: $45 Includes: English speaking guide & entrance fees to the Botanical Garden and museum of Sacred Art. 9 th or 23 rd November 2015 At 09h00, departure along the south road passing the village of Lagoa and the viewpoint of Caloura. Stop at Vila Franca (first capital of the island) for historical visit and coffee break. Arrival at the valley of Furnas, visit to the lake, hot springs and surrounding holes where meals are cooked by underground vapors. After lunch visit to the botanical garden (possibility to swim in a natural hot water swimming pool), and mineral water springs. Crossing to the north coast, stop at the tea plantation on the way, stop at Santa Iria viewpoint, and return to Ponta Delgada.
