Travel with your friends and family to beautiful Tunisia! 15 Days / 13 nights / 31 meals (1-week tour including one night under the Berber tent in the Sahara and 1-week beach stay) Enjoy a one-week tour of main Tunisian highlights with a private English speaking tour guide, a personal driver and a 4x4 vehicle. Included a night in a Bedouin camp in the Sahara (possibility to stay at a hotel as well), then spend one-week at a 4* beach stay in Port El Kantaoui. Here is a good combination of discovery, adventure and relaxation. ITINERARY Day1 CANADA DEPARTURE Depart from Toronto or Montreal to Tunis. (Other departure cities are available). Day 2 Tunis Connecting flight and transfer to your hotel in Tunis. Accommodation: El Mouradi Palace Gammarth or Royal Victoria Tunis (D) DAY 3 Tunis Carthage Sidi Bou Said Kairouan (155 km) Departure to Carthage and visit of the Antonin thermal baths. Continue to Sidi Bou Said. Leisurely stroll in this picturesque town. Later proceed to Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, and explore its medina, the souks. Visit the National Museum of Bardo. 2 DAY 4 Kairouan Sbeitla Gafsa Tozeur 300 km Visit the holy city of Tunisia including the Grand Mosque. Admire the pond of Aghablides, a 7th century relic, as well as the city s souks. Continue on to Sbeitla to visit the imposing ruins and temples. Proceed to Gafsa and visit the city centre and then we head to Tozer for the night. (B/L/D) Accommodation: Tozeur Ras el Ain 4* or similar DAY 5 Tozeur Metlaoui Tamerza Chebika Mides Tozeur (150 km) We depart for Metlaoui, where we board the famous Lezard Rouge (the Red Lizard), a touristic train that takes you for 45 minutes for an exciting ride in the mountains. If the Red Lizard is not operating today this excursion will be replace by Onk Jemel the famous Star War set. We continue on to the Mountain Oasis of Mides, Tamerza and Chebika, where you will be surprised to find waterfalls in the middle of the desert. Then, we make our way to Tozeur, known as the Door of the Desert. (B/L/D) Accommodation: Ras El Ain 4* or similar. DAY 6 Tozeur Chott El Jerid Douz Ksar Ghilane /Sahara (280 km) Today we cross the Chott El Jerid, the immaculate white salt desert where mirages are not uncommon. Continue on to Douz where you will make a stop at the sand dunes of the Sahara desert for an optional camel ride ($).Tonight, we have the opportunity to stay in a charming accommodation, a Berber Camp for a night under the tent. (B/L/D) Accommodation: Yadis Ksar Ghilane Pansea camp site DAY 7 Ksar Ghilane Matmata Chenini Tataouine (300 km) This morning we will visit the troglodyte s houses, built in the rock like holes in the desert. We then continue through Chenini and on to Tataouine, one of the most scenic cities in the South East. (B/L/D) Accommodation: Sangho Privilege 3*. single session. 3 DAY 8 Tatatouine Gabes sfax (260 km) Today we visit Gabes renowned for its spice Market and Sfax, Tunisia s second largest city. (B/L/D) Accommodation: Golden Yasmin Les Oliviers Palace 5* or similar. DAY 9 Sfax El Jem Monastir Port El Kantaoui or Hammamet (150 km to 200 km) This morning, we stop at El Jem for a visit to the ancient Roman Coliseum. We then continue to your chosen hotel in Port El Kantaoui, Sousse or Yasmine-Hammamet for your beach stay. (B/L/D) Accommodation in a standard room of the El Mouradi Palace in Port El Kantaoui or the Riadh Palms 4* in Sousse or El Mouradi Hamamamet in Yasmine Hammamet for the next 6 nights.
