2 DAY 01 AIRPORT / CHILAW Arrive at the Bandaranayake International Airport and be greeted by a representative of Silk Trails. Thereafter, proceed to your respective hotel in the West Coast - Chilaw for check in. Relax and unwind whilst enjoying the Sun, Sand and Sea. DAY 02 CHILAW / ANURADHAPURA This morning, after breakfast, make your way to Anuradhapura [App. 03 hours from Chilaw] Upon arrival, proceed on a city and archeological tour. Description: Anuradhapura: is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Sri Lankan civilization. The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and one of the eight World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka. The ancient city, considered sacred to the Buddhist world, is today surrounded by monasteries covering an area of over sixteen square miles. Thereafter, proceed back to Chilaw for your night stay. DAY 03 CHILAW / SIGIRIYA & DAMBULLA This morning, after breakfast, make your way to Sigiriya [App. 04 hours from Chilaw] Description: Sigiriya Rock Fortress the 5 th Century Fortress in the sky raising 200m from the jungle. This world heritage site was built by King Kashyapa ( AD). It is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that stands at the entrance to the fortress. Within its triple moated defence the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 500ft. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous

3 palace with extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of frescoes (painted in earth pigments on plaster) of life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original colour. Thereafter, you will proceed fist to visit the famous Dambulla Rock Temple. [App. 20 mins from Sigirya] Description: Dambulla Rock Temple - is a vast isolated rock mass 500 feet high and a mile around the base. Here you will find the famous Rock Temple dating to the First Century B.C. The caves of Dambulla sheltered King Walagamba during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura. When he regained the throne he built the most magnificent of Rock Temples to be found in the Island. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. metres of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of paintings found in the world. You will see a 47 ft recumbent image of the cut out of rock and spans 14 meters. There are images of deities associated with Buddhism all around along with 150 life size statues of the Buddha in various postures. Thereafter, proceed back to chilaw for your night stay. [App. 03 hours from Dambulla] Relax and unwind. DAY 04 SIGIRIYA / KANDY Proceed for breakfast this morning. You will then visit and explore the city of Kandy. Description: Kandy was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. It is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most venerable places for the Buddhist community of Sri Lanka and all around the world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in Kandy is also famous finest souvenirs, craft work and authentic gemstones famous in Sri Lanka. In the evening, if time permits, you will proceed to witness a cultural show.

4 Thereafter, you will visit the famous Peradeiya Botanical Gardens. [App. 20 mins from Kandy] Description: Peradeniya Botanical Gardens - is situated about 5.5 km to the west from the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and attracts 1.2 million visitors annually, It is renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. It includes more than 300 varieties of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. The classical Avenue of Palms is located in this Garden. One tree with a significant history is the Cannonball Tree planted by King George V of the United Kingdom and Queen Mary in The tree is bent with its fruits, which look like cannonballs. During the Second World War, the Botanical Garden was used by Lord Louis Mountbatten, the supreme commander of the allied forces in the South Asia, as the headquarters of the South East Asia Command.
