1 TERRA NOVA TOUR WALKING THE ISLANDS SÃO MIGUEL & SÃO JORGE São Jorge is still the island with the most beautiful and well kept walking trails of the Azores. Together with the walks on island of São Miguel, this program offer the clients an opportunity to experience two islands with a degree of difficulty of the walks are from easy to medium, having the duration between 3h00 and 5h00. The frequent mentioned Fajãs on the island of São Jorge are flat, low-lying areas leading to the sea on both sides of the island, formed by subsidence of the cliffs. Many have been converted in fertile orchards or farmland, producing tropical fruits and beautiful dragontrees thanks to the micro-climate. PROGRAM DAY 1 - Transfer to the Hotel in the valley of Furnas. DAY 2 - FURNAS - In this day no transfers required to do the lake of Furnas. It starts and ends at the hotel in Furnas. During this walk, visit to the Environmental Centre of Furnas Lake. DAY 3 - FURNAS - The walk starts at Lomba do Cavaleiro and ends at Ribeira Quente. In Ribeira Quente you can go to the beach, eat in a local restaurant or visiting the fishing port. Return transfer to the Hotel. DAY 4 - FURNAS - On this day you will go to Faial da Terra for the walk Salto do Prego. This walk goes along a path through an old village to a beautiful waterfall (2,3Km). It ends at Faial da Terra. Return transfer to the Hotel. DAY 5 - FURNAS / PONTA DELGADA - This trail begins in Ribeira Funda, goes along the beach of Praia da Viola and ends in Maia. With this walk you can enjoy various views of Maia, passing by old watermills surrounded by taro and beautiful waterfalls. At the end of the walk, transfer by taxi to the Hotel in Ponta Delgada. During the trip you will visit the most beautiful viewpoints of the north coast and a tea plantation (unique in Europe). DAY 6 - PONTA DELGADA - Walk to Lagoa do Fogo, the most savage lake of the Azores, where you only can go walking. You will go along a levada through mountains and valleys with a beautiful view. The walk ends at a beach where you can take a swim. DAY 7 - PONTA DELGADA - Walk Sete Cidades: visit the big crater of Sete Cidades with its blue and green lake, which offers you a beautiful view during the whole walk not only of the lakes but also of the big blue sea. You will descend to the valley and village of Sete Cidades where you also can walk along the lakes. Afternoon: transfer to hotel. DAY 8 - SÃO MIGUEL / SÃO JORGE - Departure transfer to airport. Flight to the island of São Jorge. Transfer to the hotel in Velas. DAY 9 - SÃO JORGE - Transfer to the beginning of the walk. Walk from Pico das Caldeirinhas to Fajã do Ouvidor. This walk is along the central part of the island leading to the highest mountain of São Jorge (Pico da Esperança) with 1053 m. Return transfer to the hotel. DAY 10 - SÃO JORGE - Transfer to the beginning of the walk.walk from Fajã dos Vimes to Fajã de São João on the south coast. From this side you can view Pico island with its magnificent mountain. Return transfer to the hotel.

2 DAY 11 - SÃO JORGE / FAIAL - Transfer to the beginning of the walk. Walk from Serra do Topo to Fajã dos Cubres on the north coast. This walk goes through a magnificent trail descending to Fajã do Santo Cristo. This protected nature reserve has an underground cave and a lake, and is the only place in the Azores where clams can be found. This Fajã is one of the most isolated places in the Azores with some summer houses and only a few families living all year round. From this side of the island you can view Graciosa island. At the end of the day, transfer to the harbour. Boat trip to the island of Faial. Transfer to the Hotel Faial. DAY 12 - FAIAL - Free day at leisure. We suggest: City Tour Horta, a Jeep Tour or a Whale Watching Trip. DAY 13 - FAIAL - Transfer from the hotel to the airport.

7 AIRPASS REGULATIONS Our programs including inter-island flights are calculated with the airpass airfare, a lower fare, to offer better rates to clients. This lower fare has the following regulation: - For passengers holding an international ticket, residing outside Portugal - Issuing of ticket 15 days prior to departure. - Cancellation before departure: 50% refund - Cancellation after departure date non refundable - Rerouting after departure: no refund unless due to death of passenger or family member - Voluntary routing changes after issuing ticket permitted to upgrade to normal fare - Change name after issuing ticket permitted with penalty - Accompanied Children: under 02 with seat pay 50% of the fare + taxes; 1st child under 02 without a seat pay 10% of the fare + taxes; yrs pay 50% of the fare + taxes Whenever there is no availability on the airpass aifare an upgrade to normal fare is necessary under payment of the difference between the two fares. You will be informed of the supplement to pay when this occurs.
