4 Proposal Activities Event Interior Seminar Publishing TOSO sponsors and participates in various product exhibitions to bring the latest TOSO products and the newest overseas products and styles to our customers. At these exhibitions, customers can see and touch curtain tracks, accessories, and other products drawing on cutting-edge designs and functions to produce refined room interiors. In Japan, we sponsor Window Fashion Fair events throughout the country. At R+T 2012, held in Germany, TOSO products were available for visitors to handle and manipulate, and were widely praised by people working in interior design and decorating but also in a wide array of areas related to construction materials, as well. TOSO puts out publications on not only window treatments but also the relationship of interior environments to daily life. Over the last 40 years, our publications have covered trends in interior design and decorating, shown photographic images of completed decoration work, explained terminology, and offered a broad range of other information for everyone from industry professionals to consumers. JAPANTEX is the largest trade show for interior design and decorating, and home textiles, in Japan. TOSO participates in JAPANTEX every year and has gained attention from overseas participants and visitors, as well as from domestic quarters, for the quality of our presentation and products. with Curtains seminars sponsored by TOSO are a valuable information channel for customers. Each seminar is led by an industry expert, and is open to participation by people working in interior design and decorating. At a typical with Curtains seminar, participants might hear a product developer from a major Japanese curtain manufacture talk about factors behind the development of a new product and about the product's differentiating features. with Curtains seminars aim to contribute to the advancement of the entire industry by disseminating information on the relationship of interior environments to daily life. Environmental Initiatives As a company strongly committed to a management mission of protecting the global environment, TOSO became Japan s first enterprise in the curtain tracks industry to obtain ISO14001 certification in environmental management. In product development, we choose raw materials with a view to using natural materials as effectively as we can. We are also developing various shades with recycled PET fiber and strive to incorporate more wood in our products by afforesting available lands and developing new laminated wood*. By developing products endowed with thermal barrier and insulation functions, we have proposed sundry eco-friendly, energy-saving measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and save power. *Laminated wood: wood materials made from reconstituted wood chips with adhesives.
