3 Notice to Mariners Issued: Port of London- L12 of 2008 Gunfleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm Safety Zone: The following positions define the boundary of the construction works N E N E N E N E N E N E N E N E N E N E A 500 metre safety zone surrounds Gunfleet Sands 1 & 2 Traffic in the Wallet north-west of the Site is guided by two red can buoy s. Red can Buoy QR 51º N 001º E Red can Buoy Fl R 51º N 001º E Traffic in the deepwater route south-east of is Site are guided by three conical buoy s. Green conical Buoy Fl G 5s 51º N 001º E Green conical Buoy Fl G (5) 5s 51º N 001º E Green conical Buoy Fl G 2.5s 51º N 001º E

4 Vessels crossing Gunfleet Sand on a straight course between the red can buoy in pos.: 51º N 001º E and the green conical buoy in pos.: 51º N 001º E, are passing through the safety zone and the construction working area. Two Mooring Buoys are positioned in the Wallet North of the wind farm primarily for mooring barges when not in use. They are lit, Fl Y 5s. They are laid in the following positions: 51º 47.15N 001º 11.60E 51º 48.05N 001º 13.95E Please refer to Admiralty Weekly Notice to Mariners 5120(P)/08 To assist local fishermen who claim losing lobsterpots when tugs+barges are leaving Harwich for the site, a map has been handed out to tugs masters of areas to avoid. The drift-netting season is underway inside the Wallet. A list of tugs phone no s has been circulated by Fisheries Liaison Officer, Richard Jacobs. This is to further improve cooperation between tugs and local fishermen. The Export Cable has been laid, running from the Sub Station to shore near Holland-on-Sea. The entire length of the export cable in now buried. The following positions define the export cable route: 51º N 001º E 51º N 001º E 51º N 001º E 51º N 001º E 51º N 001º E 51º N 001º E All vessels not involved in construction activities are requested to keep a safe distance from construction vessels and the safety zone whilst transiting the area. All vessels should proceed with caution whilst navigating and/or working in the area. 5 Work planned for the next 7 days: Gun Fleet Sands 1 & 2 Offshore Wind Farm. Activity: The Jack Up Barge Excalibur has finished installation of monopiles. All 48 piles are now installed. She will now continue with installation of remaining transition pieces and will load two TP s at a time in the Colne River, for deployment on site. Excalibur is being supported by the tugs MTS Valour, Sarah Grey and Forth Constructor. The Dive Barge Haven Seaforth will be carrying out diving works, installing J-tubes and dredging inside foundations. She transits to and from the site and the Colne Anchorage, under tow by tug Grey Test. The Tugs Smit Barracuda, and Smit Bronco will be towing barges E3801, E3004 and E3504 with transition pieces on board. Cable barge Oceanteam Installer will be installing in-field cables between the foundations. She is currently doing cable installation from the Offshore Substation to E5. Oceanteam Installer is being supported by the multicat tugs Forth Jouster and Baloe Floating crane GPS Atlas is at anchor in the Colne anchorage. The Barge SB7020 is being used as a floating harbour in the river Colne and is moored using a four point anchor spread. The anchors are marked by lit buoys. There are frequent movements with tugs and barges between the floating harbour barge, GPS Atlas and Excalibur when it is in the Colne anchorage. While commencing heavy lift, the GPS Atlas will light a yellow flash and tightens up two anchor wires crossing the river. The river will be blocked for about one hour each time. The jack-up barge Titan 2 is the Turbine Installation vessel for the project. Turbine components are brought to Harwich by barges. The Titan 2 transits from Harwich to Gunfleet Sand windfarm carrying components for 1 turbine, assembles and installs the turbine then returns to Harwich to pick up components for the next turbine. Titan 2 will normally be self-propelled. Survey vessel Sander is working out of Brightlingsea and will be conducting surveys on the windfarm. Generator vessels Ctruk Adept and Ocean Wind 3 will be supplying power to foundations and towers for commissioning, and will be regularly passing between Brightlingsea and site. There are frequent crew boat movements between the wind farm and Brightlingsea by the Offshore Progress, Valkyrie, Valhalla, Topline, Skua, Vanguard, Deliverer, Voyageur, Windspeed 4, Wylfa Head and Lesley Jay.
