5 The Yacht Refit & Repair Industry No shore based repair and refit facility for yachts > 100 tons between Puerto Rico and Trinidad A significant factor driving large yachts away from the Caribbean except during their peak charter periods is the absence of comprehensive technical support. A facility constructed further south than Saint Lucia would suffer from temperature and humidity issues. Saint Lucia has competitive labour rates.
